This study presents a standalone photovoltaic (PV)/battery energy storage (BES)-powered water quality monitoring system based on the narrowband internet of things (NB-IoT) for aquaculture. (1) A PV/BES was used as main system. The PV and BES capacities were optimized to provide uninterrupted electrical system, taking into account two techno-economic criteria: maximum reliability index (RI) minimum levelized cost (LCOE). Additionally, sensitivity analyses conducted investigate effects changes in generation consumption RI improve resilience (2) NB-IoT-based remote developed aggregate parameters such dissolved oxygen, potential hydrogen, temperature, turbidity, salinity order early warning severe quality. Subsequently, data calculate suitability (WQSI). In addition, measuring devices installed measure relevant power, consumption, state charge. Grafana then process visualize these real-time end-users. proposed tested at an aquaculture pond Rayong Province, Thailand. From viewpoint, optimal size determined be capacity 50 Wp 480 Wh, with 100% LCOE 0.61 $/kWh. experimental results revealed that could operate continuously stably without losing power supply. Furthermore, demonstrated achieved adequate communication reliability, packet loss rate 0.89%, thereby allowing reliable near WQSI.

Abstract Good water quality in recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) is crucial for ensuring the successful growth and survival of reared species. So far, there are no regulations which parameters should be measured RAS, each farmer decides to follow. Traditionally, have been at certain intervals with handheld sensors laboratory analyses, can labour intensive. Currently, a variety monitoring equipment available, even real‐time parameters. Internet Things‐based artificial intelligence applied purposes allows measurements warnings critical situations. However, many modern need competent users require regular maintenance calibration. Changes also induces changes fish behaviour, such as swimming activity, depth, acceleration assessed based on these changes. In this review, parameters, technologies summarised provide an overview current quality. Additionally, analytical methods more advanced analyses briefly summarised. Although several options available basic still required further development.

Summary As an emerging technology, blockchain (BC) has been playing a promising role in today's software‐defined networking (SDN)‐enabled Internet of Things (IoT) applications. Because the salient feature network function virtualization (NFV) techniques, SDN can ensure IoT system runs efficiently and smoothly cloud‐driven ecosystem. When cloud‐enabled systems encounter immense security operational challenges caused mainly by third‐party dependency, large‐scale data communication, maintenance, BC offers effective robust transfer solutions without incorporating intermediaries over distributed network. With increased SDN‐BC convergence domain, underlying perspectives deserve proper attention methodically structurally. From motivation addressing such issues, this study provides necessary insights to combine those for successful plug‐and‐play. Therefore, includes purposefully investigating current state‐of‐the‐art extract research trends, future directions, domain. This comprehensive survey IoT, SDN, NFV, BC‐enabled technologies.
