One of the most important trends in developments electrospinning is to combine itself with traditional materials production and transformation methods take advantage unique properties nanofibers. In this research, single-fluid blending process was combined casting film method fabricate a medicated double-layer hybrid provide dual-phase drug controlled release profile, ibuprofen (IBU) as common model poorly water-soluble ethyl cellulose (EC) polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) K60 polymeric excipients. Electrospun IBU-PVP nanofibers (F7), IBU-EC films (F8) (DHFs, F9) one layer electrospun containing IBU PVP other IBU, EC PVP, were prepared successfully. The SEM assessments demonstrated that F7 linear morphologies without beads or spindles, F8 solid films, F9 composed porous fibrous layer. XRD FTIR results verified both compatible IBU. vitro dissolution tests indicated able pulsatile release, offered typical sustained whereas exhibit 40.3 ± 5.1% first phase for manner residues released an extended second phase. DHFs from combination pave new way developing novel functional materials.

Alginate is a natural polymer with good biocompatible properties and potential polymeric material for the sustainable development replacement of petroleum derivatives. However, non-spinnability pure alginate solutions has hindered expansion applications. With continuous electrospinning technology, synthetic polymers, such as PEO PVA, are used co-spinning agents to increase spinnability alginate.
