Abstract Background The emergency of Omicron variants, spreading in China and worldwide, has sparked a new wave the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. high infectivity persistence pandemic may trigger some degrees post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) for nursing students experiencing indirect trauma exposure to epidemic, which hinders role transition from qualified nurses exacerbates health workforce shortage. Thus, it’s well worth an exploration understand PTSD its underlying mechanism. Specifically, PTSD, social support, resilience, fear COVID-19 were selected after widely literature review. This study aimed investigate relationship between support among during COVID-19, address mediating resilience provide practical guidance students’ psychological intervention. A recent meta-analysis, of 38 studies with data from 43 independent samples (total N = 24,668), claimed evidence for positive reciprocal prospective effects, and hence both top-down bottom-up processes, between general domain-specific self-esteem. However, the meta-analytic cross-lagged effects were estimated while adjusting a prior measurement outcome variable it is known that such adjusted may be spurious due to correlations residuals regression mean. In present reanalyses, we found all spurious. Consequently, claims about increasing processes self-esteem can questioned. Abstract Background Subjective well-being (SWB) is associated with social support in cross-sectional studies. However, it remains unclear whether and how predicts SWB longitudinally, especially during the COVID-19 contingency. Methods By adopting a prospective design, current work addressed this research question sample of 594 participants from U.K. The data were collected via online platform, Prolific, at two time points (June, 2020 August, 2021) 14-month interval. Descriptive analysis moderated mediation model conducted to test proposed hypotheses. Results Baseline was significant predictor subjective 14 months later, even after controlling for baseline other covariates such as personality traits. Additionally, affect balance (i.e., affective component SWB) fully mediated link between subsequent life satisfaction cognitive SWB). Moreover, household income relationship, indicating stronger individuals lower monthly income. Conclusion present sheds light on underlying mechanism boundary condition association different components pandemic.

Abstract Given the profound impact of natural disasters on mental health, particularly in vulnerable groups such as adolescent and young adult, understanding their psychological results is crucial for providing necessary support designing effective interventions. The aim this study was to investigate relationships between earthquake exposure, posttraumatic stress symptoms, coping mechanisms, social adolescents adults who survived 2023 Turkey. research conducted Kırıkhan district Hatay province, which severely damaged after that occurred Turkey 2023. sample descriptive cross-sectional consisted 204 participants. Convenience sampling method used data collection. Data were collected using Personal Information Form (PIF), Impact Events Scale (IES), Stress Coping Strategies Inventory (CSSI), Multidimensional Perceived Social Support (MPSSS). Hierarchical multiple regression analysis determine factors associated with IES-R scores. Three models tested understand predicting levels (IES-R scores). findings suggest exposure earthquake, problem-focused seeking play an important role levels.
