Ecdysteroids
are
steroid
hormones
that
control
many
aspects
of
development
and
physiology.
During
larval
development,
ecdysone
is
synthesized
in
an
endocrine
organ
called
the
prothoracic
gland
through
a
series
ecdysteroidogenic
enzymes
encoded
by
Halloween
genes.
The
expression
genes
highly
restricted
dynamic,
indicating
their
spatiotemporal
regulation
mediated
tight
transcriptional
control.

regulate

respectively,

Remarkably,
loss-of-function
mutations

can
be
rescued

suggest
factors

distinct
roles
coordinating

Abstract
Vesicular
