Pigments within polysaccharides pose significant challenges when analyzing their structural characteristics and evaluating biological activities, making decolorization a crucial step in purifying these biomolecules. In this research, novel approach using ultrasound-assisted static adsorption with macroporous resins was employed to decolorize extracted from seedless chestnut rose (Rosa sterilis S. D. Shi) fruit (RSP). Among the fourteen tested resins, AB-8, D101, D4020, HPD100, S8 were identified as most effective, demonstrating superior decoloration efficiency polysaccharide recovery. Further examinations of RSPs treated five revealed distinct effects on uronic acid levels, monosaccharide makeup, molecular weight, surface structure, hypoglycemic properties. The RSP HPD100 resin stood out for having highest content, smallest particle size, lowest leading notable inhibition α-glucosidase activity through mixed model. application process not only potentially preserved macromolecular structure but also enhanced its efficacy. These findings provide solid theoretical basis further exploring component functional foods, underscoring effectiveness method purification.

Polysaccharides are recognized for their extensive biological functions, holding significant promise applications in both medicine and food industries. However, utilization is frequently constrained by challenges such as high molecular weights indistinct sugar chain structures. Recently, two novel bacterial strains, N6T J3T, were isolated from the Nakdong River Korea. These which belong to phylum Bacteroidota, Gram-stain-negative, non-motile, aerobic, rod-shaped bacteria have shown polysaccharide-degrading capabilities. Through comprehensive analyses, including 16S rRNA gene sequencing, whole-genome detailed morphological, physiological, chemotaxonomic characterizations, these strains been identified new species within genus Flavobacterium. KEGG pathway analysis further confirmed robust capabilities carbohydrate utilization. Additional investigations using dbCAN dbCAN-PUL databases presence of carbohydrate-hydrolyzing enzymes (CAZymes) polysaccharide loci (PULs) suggesting potential degrade various polysaccharides. Subsequent vitro growth experiments demonstrated that J3T can chitin, β-glucan, κ-carrageenan, cellulose. Given diverse degradation abilities, formally proposed be named Flavobacterium polysaccharolyticum sp. nov. aureirubrum The type designated (= KCTC 102173T = GDMCC 1.4609T) 102172T 1.4608T), respectively.

Silk fibroin (SF)-based hydrogels were prepared by the simple evaporation method. The outcomes of SF-based assessed for consideration in terms practical and convenient use. Guar gum (GG) sodium benzoate (SB) are blending reagents to SF solution poured into petri dish make hydrogels. After leaving mixture three days solidify, all peeled off characterized. SF-blend guar (SF-GG) SF-GG-blend (SF-GG-SB) could be constructed, but different textures levels transparency. SB affected solid texture resulted a higher water contact angle (WCA) value hydrogel than SF-GG. results from Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) indicated main functional groups substances that contained Moreover, some interactions between also detected. A thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA) was used determine decomposition as function temperature. DTG thermograms, which exhibit maximum temperature, revealed interaction forces SF, well their structure, reason thermal stability SF-GG-SB have tensile strength SF-GG In conclusion, appearance, texture, hydrophilicity, stability, types concentrations substances. This suggests properties designed adjusted attain desirable fitting target applications.
