Aim: To study the biodistribution and toxicology of selenium nanoparticles (SeNPs) versus their bulk counterpart in young adult male rats a 28-day study. Methods: SeNPs were synthesized conjugated with indocyanine green to assess comparative by vivo imaging further characterized transmission electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared, scanning microscopy / energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy, UV ζ-analysis. The toxicity was evaluated relative its nano form hematology indices, redox, inflammatory markers histopathology. Results: Indocyanine green-conjugated showed preferential accumulation liver, followed testis kidney. protective effect more significantly observed livers than adults compared counterpart. Conclusion: Age-dependent monitoring diagnosis may need different biomarkers also provide better understanding as therapeutics.

Changes in trace element concentrations are being wildly considered when it comes to neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease. This study aims present the role that elements play central nervous system. Moreover, we reviewed mechanisms involved their neurotoxicity. Low zinc concentrations, well high levels of copper, manganese, iron, activate signalling pathways inflammatory, oxidative nitrosative stress response. Neurodegeneration occurs due association between metals proteins, which is then followed by aggregate formation, mitochondrial disorder, and, ultimately, cell death. In disease, low Zn suppress neurotoxicity induced β-amyloid through selective precipitation aggregation intermediates. High iron manganese cause intracellular α-synuclein, results synaptic dysfunction axonal transport disruption. caused accumulation Fe midbrain dopaminergic nucleus, pathogenesis multiple sclerosis derives from deficiency, leading an imbalance T functions. Aluminium disturbs homeostasis other a rise production oxygen reactive forms, leads cellular Selenium, with plays distinct process ferroptosis. Outlining influence have on oxidoreduction processes crucial recognising pathophysiology diseases may provide possible new methods for both avoidance therapy.

Alzheimer’s disease is an age-related neurodegenerative disorder with a complex and incompletely understood pathogenesis. Despite extensive research, cure for has not yet been found. Oxidative stress mediates excessive oxidative responses, its involvement in pathogenesis as primary or secondary pathological event widely accepted. As member of the selenium-containing antioxidant enzyme family, glutathione peroxidase 4 reduces esterified phospholipid hydroperoxides to maintain cellular redox homeostasis. With discovery ferroptosis, central role anti-lipid peroxidation several diseases, including disease, received widespread attention. Increasing evidence suggests that expression inhibited brain, resulting stress, inflammation, apoptosis, which are closely associated damage disease. Several therapeutic approaches, such small molecule drugs, natural plant products, non-pharmacological treatments, ameliorate cognitive function by promoting enhancing activity. Therefore, upregulation may be promising strategy treatment This review provides overview gene structure, biological functions, regulatory mechanisms 4, discussion on important events related summary advances small-molecule therapies targeting Most prior studies this subject used animal models, relevant clinical lacking.
