A stabilized biochar (BC)–nano-scale zero-valent iron (nZVI) composite (BC-nZVI@Cell-g-PAA) was prepared using cellulose-grafted polyacrylic acid (Cell-g-PAA) as the raw material through in situ polymerization and liquid-phase reduction methods for remediation of hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI))-contaminated water. BC-nZVI@Cell-g-PAA characterized by XRD, FT-IR, SEM, BET, TEM, XPS. According to batch experiments, under optimized conditions (Cr(VI) concentration 50 mg/L, pH = 3, dosage 2 g/L), achieved maximum Cr(VI) removal efficiency (99.69%) within 120 min. Notably, BC, a carrier, high dispersion nZVI its porous structure, effectively preventing particle agglomeration improving reaction activity. Simultaneously, functional groups on surface Cell-g-PAA provided excellent protection nZVI, significantly suppressing oxidative deactivation. Furthermore, reduced insoluble trivalent chromium(Cr(III)) species them immobilization. The synergistic effects physical adsorption chemical greatly contributed Cr(VI). Remarkably, exhibited reusability with 62.4% after five cycles, demonstrating potential promising remediating Cr(VI)-contaminated In conclusion, not only demonstrated remarkable but also showcased practical applications environmental remediation, evidenced sustained performance over multiple reuse cycles. Moreover, Cr(VI), toxic carcinogenic substance, poses significant risks aquatic ecosystems human health, underscoring importance developing effective from contaminated

Deltamethrin (DLM) is a widely used and highly effective insecticide. DLM exposure harmful to animal human. Quail, as bird model, has been in the field of toxicology. However, there little information available literature about quail cerebrum damage caused by DLM. Here, we investigated effect on neurons. Four groups healthy quails were assigned (10 each group), respectively given 0, 15, 30, 45 mg/kg gavage for 12 weeks. Through measurements cerebrum, it was found that induced obvious histological changes, oxidative stress, neurons apoptosis. To further explore possible molecular mechanisms, performed real-time quantitative PCR detect expression endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress-related mRNA such glucose regulated protein 78 kD, activating transcription factor 6, inositol requiring enzyme, kinase RNA (PKR)-like ER kinase. In addition, detected ATP content evaluate functional status mitochondria. The study showed significantly increased decreased tissues. These results suggest chronic induces apoptosis via promoting stress mitochondrial dysfunction. Furthermore, our provide novel explanation DLM-induced avian

Although massive hepatocyte cell death and oxidative stress constitute major events of acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF), the relationship ferroptosis with ACLF has yet to be explored. Nuclear factor erythroid 2-related 2 (Nrf2) is a key regulator ferroptosis. However, if Nrf2 modulates through remains unknown. Here, tissues patients were collected murine models using carbon tetrachloride, D-galactosamine, lipopolysaccharide as well an H2O2-induced injury model established. Upon ACLF, livers exhibited features ferroptosis, including lipid peroxidation (increase in malondialdehyde whereas decrease glutathione nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate), increased mRNA expression prostaglandin-endoperoxide synthase-2 (PTGS2). Ferroptosis inducer RSL-3 treatment aggravated damage, while inhibitor Ferrostatin-1 administration alleviated severity, manifesting improved histopathological lesions reduced serum ALT AST. Compared normal tissue, was upregulated models. Pharmacological activation (Bardoxolone Methyl) attenuated prevented peroxidation, PTGS2 expression, ferroptosis-specific mitochondrial morphology vivo. In contrast, ML385 exacerbated injury. Collectively, plays protective role progression repressing which provides promising therapeutic cues for ACLF.

Liver disease has become an important risk factor for global health. Resveratrol (Res) is a natural polyphenol which widely found in foods and variety of biological activities. This study investigated the role microbiota-gut-liver axis Res relieving liver fibrosis induced by inorganic mercury exposure. Twenty-eight mice were divided into four groups (n = 7) treated with mercuric chloride and/or 24 weeks, respectively. The results showed that mitigated ileum injury restrained LPS alcohol entering body circulation. Network pharmacological molecular analyses alleviated oxidative stress, metabolism disorders, inflammation, hepatic stellate cell activation liver. In conclusion, alleviates via activating Sirt1/PGC-1α signaling pathway regulating microbial-gut-liver axis, particularly, increasing relative enrichment Bifidobacterium intestinal tract.

However, whether curcumin protects injury caused by UV is still unknown. A vitro model was established effects on Hacat cells were detected. Nrf2 knocked down in to verify role protective effect of curcumin. Results indicated that (UVA) (or B (UVB)) irradiation would lead decreased cell proliferation, increased apoptosis, catalase, heme oxygenase 1, superoxide dismutase expression, levels protein carbonylation malondialdehyde (p < 0.05). These adverse events could be reversed adding 5-μM Meanwhile, we found application effectively accumulation cells. While knockdown cells, against UVA UVB) attenuated.
