Probiotics, like lactic acid bacteria, are non-pathogenic microbes that exert health benefits to the host when administered in adequate quantity. Currently, research is being conducted on molecular events and applications of probiotics. The suggested mechanisms by which probiotics their action include; competitive exclusion pathogens for adhesion sites, improvement intestinal mucosal barrier, gut immunomodulation, neurotransmitter synthesis. This review emphasizes recent advances emerging food industry. Due capability modulate microbiota attenuate immune system, could be used as an adjuvant hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, cancer, gastrointestinal diseases. Considering functional properties, dairy, beverage, baking industries. After developing latest techniques researchers, can now survive within harsh processing conditions withstand GI stresses quite effectively. Thus, potential efficiently utilized a commercial scale

Colonic drug delivery can facilitate access to unique therapeutic targets and has the potential enhance bioavailability whilst reducing off-target effects. Delivering drugs colon requires considered formulation development, as both oral rectal dosage forms encounter challenges if colon's distinct physiological environment is not appreciated. As opportunities surrounding colonic multiply, success of novel pharmaceuticals lies in their design. This review provides a modern insight into key parameters determining effective design development colon-targeted medicines. Influential features governing release, dissolution, stability, absorption are first discussed, followed by an overview most reliable strategies. Finally, appropriate vitro, vivo, silico preclinical investigations presented, with goal inspiring strategic new therapeutics.

Oral administration of probiotics orchestrates the balance between intestinal microbes and immune response. However, effective delivery in situ colonization are limited by harsh environment gastrointestinal tract. Herein, we provide a microfluidics-derived encapsulation strategy to address this problem. A novel synergistic system composed EcN Nissle 1917 prebiotics, including alginate sodium inulin gel, for treating inflammatory bowel disease colitis-associated colorectal cancer is proposed. We demonstrated that EcN@AN microparticles yielded promising resistance on-demand probiotic colon-retentive capability. efficiently ameliorated inflammation modulated gut microbiome experimental colitis. Moreover, prebiotic composition enhanced fermentation relative short-chain fatty acid metabolites, kind postbiotics, exert anti-inflammatory tumor-suppressive effects murine models. This microfluidcis-based approach coordinated prebiotics may have broad implications bacteriotherapy applications.

Consumers are increasingly showing a preference for foods whose nutritional and therapeutic value has been enhanced. Probiotics live microorganisms, their existence is associated with number of positive effects in humans, as there many well-documented studies related to gut microbiota balance, the regulation immune system, maintenance intestinal mucosal barrier. Hence, probiotics widely preferred by consumers, causing an increase corresponding food sector. As consequence this preference, industries those involved production strongly interested occurrence food, they have proven beneficial on human health when exist appropriate quantities. Encapsulation technology promising technique that aims preserve integrating them other materials order ensure improve effectiveness. Encapsulated also show increased stability survival various stages processing, storage, gastrointestinal transit. This review focuses applications encapsulation sustainable production, including controlled release mechanisms techniques.

Abstract Background Colorectal cancer (CRC) incidence is increasing in recent years due to intestinal flora imbalance, making oral probiotics a hotspot for research. However, numerous studies related regulation ignore its internal mechanisms without in-depth Results Here, we developed probiotic microgel delivery system ( L.r @(SA-CS) 2 ) through the layer-by-layer encapsulation technology of alginate (SA) and chitosan (CS) improve gut microbiota dysbiosis enhance anti-tumor therapeutic effect. Short chain fatty acids (SCFAs) produced by have direct effects. Additionally, it reduces harmful bacteria such as Proteobacteria Fusobacteriota , mutualophy increases beneficial Bacteroidota Firmicutes which produce butyric acid. By binding G protein-coupled receptor 109A (GPR109A) on surface colonic epithelial cells, acid can induce apoptosis abnormal cells. Due low expression GPR109A colon MK-6892 (MK) be used stimulate GPR109A. With increased production butyrate, activated able bind more further promotes cells triggers an antitumor response. Conclusion It appears that administration microgels may provide treatment option CRC modifying microbiota.
