Widespread use of the new chiral triazole fungicide mefentrifluconazole (MFZ) poses a threat to soil organisms. Although fungicides have been reported induce reproductive disorders in vertebrates, significant research gaps remain regarding their impact on health invertebrates. Here, reproduction-related toxicity end points were explored earthworms (

The uptake, translocation, and accumulation of mefentrifluconazole (MFZ), an innovative chiral triazole fungicide, in plants at the enantiomeric level are still unclear. Herein, we investigated patterns mechanisms bioaccumulation, translocation through several experiments. Rac-MFZ shows strongest uptake bioaccumulation capacity wheat compared with its enantiomers, while S-(+)-MFZ has highest potential. Molecular docking provided evidence stronger ability than R-(-)-MFZ. Split-root experiments showed that MFZ enantiomers could undergo long-distance transport within wheat. Mefentrifluconazole was the first novel isopropyl alcohol triazole fungicide. Existing research indicated that R-mefentrifluconazole had high activity and low toxicity, presenting potential for monocase application, while limited data existed on its enantioselective dissipation in crops. Here, after confirming absolute configuration, risk assessments of chiral mefentrifluconazole soybeans, peanuts, tomatoes, grapes, soil were conducted. The preferential verified soybean plants, peanut grapes. Tebuconazole is widely used in agricultural practices, leading to elevated residue levels soils. However, its biotransformation and the ecotoxicological effects of corresponding transformation products (TPs) remain insufficiently explored. To fill this research gap, TPs tebuconazole an earthworm-soil system were identified by UHPLC-QTOF/MS combined with UHPLC-QLiT/MS. Six chiral tentatively identified, four detected both earthworms soil, while two found exclusively earthworm. Significant enantioselectivity was observed for five earthworms, involving cytochrome P450 enzyme-mediated hydroxylation dechlorination. In vitro metabolism experiments using earthworm microsomes revealed that CYP1A2, CYP2J2, CYP2E1 involved pathway tebuconazole. Molecular docking results confirmed S-(+)-tebuconazole produced more hydroxylated than R-(-)-tebuconazole due lower binding energy these enzymes. Predictions from ECOSAR model indicated most significant reducing toxicity These findings provide valuable insights into environmental fate risk assessment at enantiomeric level.

The occurrence of maize ear rot caused by Fusarium verticillioides (F. verticillioides) poses a threat to the yield and quality maize. Mefentrifluconazole enantiomers appear have strong stereoselective activity against F. cause differences in fumonisin production. We evaluated mefentrifluconazole determining inhibition strain, hyphae, conidia. Strain R-(−)-mefentrifluconazole was 241 times higher than S-(+)-mefentrifluconazole 376 conidia inhibition. For mechanism enantioselective bioactivity, R-mefentrifluconazole had stronger binding proteins S-(+)-mefentrifluconazole. Under several concentration conditions, 1.3–24.9-fold treatment treatment. R-enantiomer stimulated despite bioactivity. As incubation time increased, stimulation on production decreased. R-(−)-Mefentrifluconazole at 25 °C compared 30 °C. This study established foundation for development high-efficiency low-risk pesticides.
