The present day's ongoing global warming and climate change adversely affect plants through imposing environmental (abiotic) stresses disease pressure. major abiotic factors such as drought, heat, cold, salinity, etc., hamper a plant's innate growth development, resulting in reduced yield quality, with the possibility of undesired traits. In 21st century, advent high-throughput sequencing tools, state-of-the-art biotechnological techniques bioinformatic analyzing pipelines led to easy characterization plant traits for stress response tolerance mechanisms by applying 'omics' toolbox. Panomics pipeline including genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, epigenomics, proteogenomics, interactomics, ionomics, phenomics, have become very handy nowadays. This is important produce climate-smart future crops proper understanding molecular responses genes, transcripts, proteins, epigenome, cellular metabolic circuits resultant phenotype. Instead mono-omics, two or more (hence 'multi-omics') integrated-omics approaches can decipher well. Multi-omics-characterized be used potent genetic resources incorporate into breeding program. For practical utility crop improvement, multi-omics particular combined genome-assisted (GAB) being pyramided improved yield, food quality associated agronomic open new era omics-assisted breeding. Thus, together are able processes, biomarkers, targets engineering, regulatory networks precision agriculture solutions crop's variable ensure security under changing circumstances.

Matrix-assisted laser desorption and ionization (MALDI) is a widely used soft-ionization technique of modern mass spectrometry (MS). MALDI enables the analysis nearly all chemical compounds—including polar apolar (phospho)lipids—with minimum extent fragmentation. has some particular advantages (such as possibility to acquire spatially-resolved spectra) competitive with simultaneously developed ESI (electrospray ionization) MS. Although there are still methodological aspects that need be elucidated in more detail, it obvious careful selection an appropriate matrix plays most important role (lipid) analysis. Some lipid classes can detected exclusively if optimum used, determines sensitivity by which within mixture. Since is, thus, crucial for results, we provide here update on progress field since our original review this journal 2018. Thus, only development during last five years considered, lipids sorted according increasing complexity, starting free fatty acids ending cardiolipins phosphoinositides.

Abstract Seipin is one key mediator of lipid metabolism that highly expressed in adipose tissues as well the brain. Lack gene, Bscl2 , leads to not only severe metabolic disorders but also cognitive impairments and motor disabilities. Myelin, composed mainly lipids, facilitates nerve transmission important for coordination learning. Whether deficiency-leaded defects learning underlined by dysregulation its consequent myelin abnormalities remains be elucidated. In present study, we verified expression oligodendrocytes (OLs) their precursors, oligodendrocyte precursor cells (OPCs), demonstrated deficiency compromised OPC differentiation, which led decreased OL numbers, protein, myelinated fiber proportion thickness myelin. Deficiency resulted impaired spatial cognition mice. Mechanistically, suppressed sphingolipid metabolism-related genes OPCs caused morphological droplets (LDs), markedly impeded differentiation. Importantly, rosiglitazone, agonist PPAR-gamma, substantially restored phenotypes resulting from deficiency, such aberrant LDs, reduced sphingolipids, obstructed neurobehavioral defects. Collectively, study elucidated how deficiency-induced deficits via impairing myelination, may pave way developing novel intervention strategy treating metabolism-involved neurological disorders.

Nanosilvers with multifarious morphologies have been extensively used in many fields, but their morphology-dependent toxicity toward nontarget aquatic organisms remains largely unclear. Herein, we matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry imaging (MALDI-MSI) to investigate the toxicological effects of silver nanomaterials various on spatially resolved lipid profiles within multiple organs adult zebrafish, especially for gill, liver, and intestine. Integrated histopathology, enzyme activity, accumulated Ag contents amounts, as well MSI results, found that nanosilvers exhibit nanotoxicity by disrupting levels producing oxidative stress. Silver nanospheres (AgNSs) had highest whereas nanoflakes (AgNFs) exhibited greater than nanowires (AgNWs). Levels differential phospholipids, such PC, PE, PI, PS, were associated nanosilver morphology. Notably, AgNSs induced organs, brain, while AgNWs AgNFs caused intestine AgNSs. Lipid functional disturbance stress further inflammation membrane damage after exposure nanosilvers, respect sphere Taken together, these findings will contribute clarifying mechanisms different zebrafish.
