Infections caused by bacteria pose a serious threat to public health, and there is need for numerous innovative, antibiotic-free antimicrobial medicines. Herein, we describe the synthesis of CuS/Co-ferrocene-MOF (CuS/Co-Fc-MOF) nanocomposites, formed coupling CuS nanoparticles (NPs) two-dimensional (2D) Co-Fc-MOF nanosheets, that constitutes an platform capable near-infrared (NIR) photothermal promotion chemodynamic antibacterial. 2D CuS/Co-Fc-MOF nanocomposites consist nanosheets with dimensions approximately 100–200 nm thicknesses 13.1–15.6 nm, where NPs, size about 8 are excellently dispersed on surface nanosheets. The diverse valence states cobalt iron in enable them undergo Fenton-like reactions H2O2, thus generating highly oxidizing ·OH therapy (CDT). utilization local plasmonic resonance effect NPs enables enhancement CDT activity under laser irradiation. More importantly, can achieve rapid (15 min) NIR laser-assisted killing both S. aureus E. coli bacterial infection microenvironment compared Therefore, be employed as promising nanoagent promote photothermally augmented antibacterial therapy.

The hypervirulent carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae (hv-CRKP) poses a substantial challenge to the global health care. However, mechanism behind its evolution and transmission remain elusive. Here, four virulence plasmid types were identified from 310 hv-CRKP isolates collected nationwide during 2017–2018, based on their aerobactin ( iuc locus) lineage IncFIB replicons. Notably, pIUC1-IncFIB(K) 37 pIUC1-IncFIB(Mar), representing two epidemic plasmids in Asia Europe, respectively, accounted for >90% of episodes. Analysis 494 K. (376 2010–2013; 118 2017–2018) 2578 public genomes indicated notable role IncFIB(Mar) emergence spread. Conjugation assays showed helper could efficiently transfer into strain uniquely retromobilize with back CRKP. Thereafter, either lost rapidly or recombined , generating hybrid pIUC1-IncFIB(Mar) plasmid. Our findings elucidated formation, evolution, dissemination trajectories major strains different regions.

Background The rapid emergence of multidrug-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae (MDR K. ) is a major public health and economic burden worldwide. Various resistance mechanisms complicate treatment, leading to increased morbidity mortality. Despite numerous studies conducted in Gulf Health Council (GHC) countries, the molecular epidemiology MDR remains not clearly defined. This systematic review aims analyze antimicrobial genes across GHC countries. Methods A search was using PubMed, ScienceDirect, OpenMD for articles published up March 15, 2023. strategy focused on bacterial name, drug-resistance genotypes, followed PRISMA guidelines, with two independent reviewers assessing risk bias NIH Study Quality Assessment tools. Results primary yielded 1,663 studies, which 67 met inclusion criteria. Saudi Arabia contributed most 41 (61.1%), by Kuwait 7 (10.4%), UAE 6 (9%) studies. Oman Qatar each 4 (6%), Bahrain three (4.5%). remaining (4.4%) were from multiple exhibited considerable heterogeneity detection methods, target genes, mechanisms. The emergence of hypervirulence (hv) and carbapenem resistance (CR) as distinct evolutionary directions for Klebsiella pneumoniae presents a significant threat in clinical settings. However, recent years, there has been growing identification K. strains that integrate both phenotypes, resulting severe outcomes. Carbapenem-resistant hypervirulent (CRhvKP) typically emerges through the acquisition plasmids carrying either virulence or CR-encoded genes by carbapenem-resistant pneumoniae. Furthermore, hybrid plasmid can confer combination CR hv. CRhvKP cause variety infections, including pneumonia, urinary tract bloodstream liver abscesses, other related conditions. While sequence type 11 (ST11) dominates majority China, molecular factors responsible success ST11 largely remain unknown. Here, we provide an overview current understanding variation distribution crucial determinants, mechanisms driving merging hv CR, potential influencing epidemiological CRhvKP. This research aims to contribute comprehensive complexities surrounding It is imperative underscore development therapies, precision medicine, vaccine strategies pivotal approaches effectively combating Considering widespread prevalence CRhvKP, prioritized, multifaceted approach encompassing infection control, active surveillance, innovative therapeutics essential.
