Effect of Planktonic Algae on Iron Variation In Plain Reservoirs, North China Plain DOI

The seasonal high iron concentration in reservoirs North China Plain causes staining and taste, thus impacting consumer acceptance of drinking water. To elucidate the regularities variations concentration, our study summarized analyzed distribution a typical plain reservoir during three years from 2020 to 2022 its correlation with environment variables other water quality indicators. Statistical analysis showed that increase mainly occurred between May November, it usually peaked September, maximum exceeds 1mg/L. Iron element overlying existed an insoluble state. exhibited positive turbidity, temperature, permanganate index, chlorophyll algae count (P<0.01). Furthermore, had significant amount Microcystis, Eudorina, Euglena, Cryptomonas. It can be inferred is caused by growth reproduction planktonic algae. Temporal spatial also gradually affect content sediment. Our highlights interaction inhibition important controlling concentration.
