The human gut microbiota plays a critical role in maintaining host homeostasis through metabolic activities. Among these, amino acid (AA) metabolism by the large intestine is highly heterogeneous and relevant to health. Despite increasing interest, microbial AA remains relatively unexplored. This review highlights recent advances colonic metabolism, including auxotrophies, synthesis, dissimilatory metabolites, their implications health, focusing on major gastrointestinal diseases colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable syndrome.

Acute liver injury (ALI) is a severe disease that characterized by sudden and massive hepatocyte necrosis deterioration of functions. Oxidative stress increasingly recognized as key factor in the induction progression ALI. Scavenging excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS) with antioxidants has become promising therapeutic option, but intrinsically hepatocyte-targeting excellent bioavailability biocompatibility are yet to be developed. Herein, self-assembling nanoparticles (NPs) composed amphiphilic polymers introduced encapsulate organic Selenium compound L-Se-methylselenocysteine (SeMC) form SeMC NPs, which protect viabilities functions cultured hepatocytes drug- or chemical-induced acute hepatotoxicity models via efficient ROS removal. After further functionalization ligand glycyrrhetinic acid (GA), resultant GA-SeMC NPs exhibit enhanced uptake accumulation. In mouse ALI induced acetaminophen (APAP) carbon tetrachloride (CCl4 ), treatment significantly decrease levels hepatic lipid peroxidation, tissue vacuolization serum transaminases, while prominently increase endogenous antioxidant enzymes. Our study therefore presents liver-targeting drug delivery strategy for prevention diseases.

Two identical experiments were conducted to enhance credibility results. Goose livers showed significantly higher protein content than leg muscles with oats increased breasts livers. Each method resulted sum essential amino acids ( EAA) exceeding WHO standard. Barley oat-based yielded most favourable results terms quality, often resulting acid index (EAAI) values (161-179) compared other two groups (159-166). The goose boasted elevated levels elements demonstrated significant richness both iron (Fe) (337 mg/kg) copper (Cu) (304 mg/kg), substantially surpassing daily requirements a 100 g serving. products from oatfed barley-fed also exhibited several elements, while corn-based typically displayed some lowest elements. breast darker colour redder hue less yellowness legs. Abstract Restricting dietary protein intake has metabolic and physiological benefits for animals. Rodent studies have identified the involvement of a hormone fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21), which is upregulated by sensing amino acid scarcity. However, to what extent this mechanism conserved in primates remains elusive. Using common marmosets Callithrix jacchus as non-human primate model, we demonstrate protocol restriction manipulation. Low diet induces decrease blood urea nitrogen, altered plasma profiles, an increase FGF21. Supplementation purified acids suppresses features restriction.
