Microbes have inhabited the earth for hundreds of millions years longer than humans. The microbiota-gut-brain axis (MGBA) represents a bidirectional communication pathway. These communications occur between central nervous system (CNS), enteric (ENS), and emotional cognitive centres brain. field research on gut-brain has grown significantly during past two decades. Signalling occurs gut microbiota brain through neural, endocrine, immune, humoral pathways. A substantial body evidence indicates that MGBA plays pivotal role in various neurological diseases. include Alzheimer's disease (AD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Rett syndrome, attention deficit hyperactivity (ADHD), non-Alzheimer's neurodegeneration dementias, fronto-temporal lobe dementia (FTLD), Wilson-Konovalov (WD), multisystem atrophy (MSA), Huntington's chorea (HC), Parkinson's (PD), multiple sclerosis (MS), amyotrophic lateral (ALS), temporal epilepsy (TLE), depression, schizophrenia (SCZ). Furthermore, correlation therapeutics will be discussed. Conversely, mood delivery, exercise, psychotropic agents, stress, neurologic drugs can influence MGBA. By understanding MGBA, it may possible to facilitate into microbial-based interventions therapeutic strategies

In recent years, evidence has shown that gut microbiota plays an important role regulating activation NLRP3 inflammasome. Variations function composition can directly or indirectly influence inflammasome by influencing bacterial components metabolites. The present study investigated the mechanism underlying impact of hesperidin (HES) on nonalcoholic fatty liver (NAFLD). C57BL/6J male mice were administered a low-fat diet, high-fat diet (HFD), or HFD plus 0.2% (wt/wt) HES (HFD + HES) diet. After 16 weeks intervention, in HFD+HES group showed lower final body weight and improved serum lipid profiles when compared with group. Alleviation dysfunction induced by was observed HES-fed mice, expression genes involved metabolism also altered. Moreover, changed composition intestinal microbiota enriched specific genera such as Bacteroidota. Liver metabolomics analysis indicated that enhanced abundance metabolites arginine-related well mitochondrial oxidation-related pathways, these predicted to be positively correlated gut HES. Together, results indicate HFD-fed supplemented markedly regulated hepatic concurrent shifts bacteria.

The gut microbiome, hosting a diverse microbial community, plays pivotal role in metabolism, immunity, and digestion. While the potential of exercise to influence this microbiome has been increasingly recognized, findings remain incongruous. This systematic review examined effects on human animal models. Databases (i.e., PubMed, Cochrane Library, Scopus, Web Science) were searched up June 2022. Thirty-two studies, i.e., 19 13 studies with minimum two groups that discussed outcomes, such as diversity, taxonomic composition, or metabolites, over intervention period, included (PROSPERO registration numbers for review: CRD42023394223). Results indicated 50% found no significant effect diversity. When evident, often augmented Shannon index, reflecting enhanced richness evenness, irrespective disease status. Changes beta-diversity metrics also documented but without clear directionality. A larger percentage demonstrated shifts diversity compared any distinct patterns, mainly due varied predominantly aerobic metrics. In terms humans, usually led decrease Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes ratio, consistent increases Bacteroides Roseburia genera. models, Coprococcus , another short chain fatty acid (SCFA) producer, consistently rose exercise. Generally, SCFA producers increase With regard SCFAs emerged most frequently measured metabolite. However, limited examining microbial-produced including SCFAs, patterns did not emerge. overall risk bias was deemed neutral. conclusion, comprehensive underscores can potentially impact indications changes composition. variability study designs protocols demands more standardized methodologies robust statistical nuanced understanding exercise-microbiome relationship could guide individualized programs optimize health.
