Calendula officinalis Linn. (CO) is a popular medicinal plant from the kingdom’s Asteraceae family that has been used for millennia. This contains flavonoids, triterpenoids, glycosides, saponins, carotenoids, volatile oil, amino acids, steroids, sterols, and quinines. These chemical constituents confer multifaceted biological effects such as anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, antihelminthic, antidiabetes, wound healing, hepatoprotective, antioxidant activities. Additionally, it employed in cases of certain burns gastrointestinal, gynecological, ocular, skin conditions. In this review, we have discussed recent research last five years on therapeutic applications CO emphasized its myriad capabilities traditional medicine. We also elucidated CO’s molecular mechanisms clinical studies. Overall, review intends to summarize, fill gaps existing research, provide wealth possibilities researchers working validate claims advance safe effective use treating various ailments.

Cancer is still the leading cause of death worldwide, burdening global medical system. Rosmarinic acid (RA) among first secondary metabolites discovered and it a bioactive compound identified in plants such as Boraginaceae Nepetoideae subfamilies Lamiaceae family, including Thymus masticmasti chinaythia koreana, Ocimum sanctum, Hyptis pectinate. This updated review to highlight chemopreventive chemotherapeutic effects RA its derivatives, thus providing valuable clues for potential development some complementary drugs treatment cancers. Relevant information about RA's derivatives were collected from electronic scientific databases, PubMed/Medline, Scopus, TRIP database, Web Science, Science Direct. The results studies showed numerous significant biological antiviral, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumour, antioxidant antiangiogenic effects. Most on anticancer with corresponding mechanisms are experimental preclinical stage missing evidence clinical trials support research. Abstract Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide and involves an oxidative stress mechanism. The transcription factor Nrf2 has crucial role in cytoprotective response against stress, including cancer growth progression therapy resistance. For this reason, inhibitors are new targets to be studied. Traditional plant-based remedies rich phytochemicals have been used human cancers phenolic compounds known for their chemopreventive properties. This comprehensive review offers updated the as anticancer agents due action on inhibition. In addition, naturally-occurring bioactive covered clinical applications polyphenols inhibitors.

Ubiquitously present in plant life, coumarins, as a class of phenolic compounds, have multiple applications-in everyday organic synthesis, medicine and many others. Coumarins are well known for their broad spectrum physiological effects. The specific structure the coumarin scaffold involves conjugated system with excellent charge electron transport properties. antioxidant activity natural coumarins has been subject intense study at least two decades. Significant research into behavior natural/semi-synthetic complexes carried out published scientific literature. authors this review noted that, during past five years, efforts seem to focused on synthesis examination synthetic derivatives aim produce potential drugs enhanced, modified or entirely novel As pathologies associated oxidative stress, coumarin-based compounds could be candidates medicinal molecules. aims inform reader some prominent results from investigations properties over years.

Abstract Psoralea corylifolia L. (PCL), referred to as “Bu-gu-zhi” in Chinese, has great medicinal values since ancient times. PCL is the dried ripe fruit of L., which been widely used traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for treatment kidney-yang deficiency, enuresis and urinary frequency, chills pain waist knees, dawn diarrhea vitiligo. In this paper, a systematic botany, uses, phytochemistry, pharmacology, toxicology, quality control pharmacokinetics was presented, along with future research directions. According results, contains approximately 163 chemical components, including coumarins, flavonoids, monoterpene phenols, benzofurans, glycosides, lipids, fatty acids, volatile oils. its active ingredients have variety pharmacological activities, such anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral, antioxidant, antitumor, antiosteoporosis, cardioprotective, neuroprotective, immunomodulatory. Further study standards potential mechanisms also needed. addition, more toxicological studies will contribute progress clinical trials.

Molecular hybridization represents a new approach in drug discovery which specific chromophores are strategically combined to create novel drugs with enhanced therapeutic effects. This innovative strategy leverages the strengths of individual address complex biological challenges, synergize beneficial properties, optimize pharmacokinetics, and overcome limitations associated single-agent therapies. Coumarins documented possess several bioactivities have therefore been targeted for combination other active moieties molecular hybrids. review summarizes recent (2013–2023) trends synthesis coumarins, as well coumarin–chalcone coumarin–triazole To cover wide aspects this area, we included differently substituted chalcones, 1,2,3– 1,2,4–triazoles considered point fusion/attachment coumarin show diversity these The reported syntheses mainly relied on well-established chemistry without need strict reaction conditions usually produced high yields. Additionally, discussed compounds, including antioxidative, antimicrobial, anticancer, antidiabetic, anti-cholinesterase activities commented their IC50 where possible. Promising bioactivity results obtained so far. It is noted that mechanistic studies infrequently found published work, was also mentioned give reader better understanding. aims provide valuable information enable further developments field.
