Abstract This study examined longitudinal links between several dimensions of parent–child relationship and adolescent substance use, tested the role self-control in mediating these. The family environment has a significant impact on the psychological and behavioral development of children, especially those who are left behind in preschool experience parent-child separation at young age. These children face greater risk dysfunction, which can lead to internalizing externalizing problem behaviors. While numerous studies have established connection between functioning behaviors, few explored underlying mechanisms driving this relationship. Based on the limited resource model of self-control, we construct a chain mediation to examine relationship between parental phubbing and adolescents’ academic burnout, whether social anxiety self-control play mediating role in it. Risk-taking behavior is particularly widespread during adolescence, and negatively impacts the healthy growth social adaptation of adolescents. Utilizing problem-behavior theory (PBT) family stress model (FSM), current study examined relationship between socioeconomic status (SES) adolescents' risk-taking behavior, as well mediating role psychological capital self-control. A total 1,156 Chinese adolescent students (Mage = 15.51, 48% boys) completed a series questionnaires anonymously. The results showed that: (1) Socioeconomic was correlated with behavior; (2) Both self-control mediated SES independently; (3) Psychological also adolescents sequentially.
