Numerous natural antioxidants commonly found in our daily diet have demonstrated significant benefits for human health and various diseases by counteracting the impact of reactive oxygen nitrogen species. Their chemical properties enable a range biological actions, including antihypertensive, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anti-fibrotic, anticancer effects. Despite promising outcomes from preclinical studies, ongoing debate persists regarding their reproducibility clinical models. This controversy largely stems lack understanding pharmacokinetic these compounds, coupled with predominant focus on monotherapies research, neglecting potential synergistic effects arising combining different antioxidants. study aims to provide an updated overview antioxidants, operating under hypothesis that multitherapeutic approach surpasses monotherapy efficacy. Additionally, this underscores importance integrating into diet, as they prevent onset progression diseases. Vascular diseases (VDs) pose the leading threat worldwide due to high morbidity and mortality. The detection of VDs is commonly dependent on individual signs, which limits accuracy timeliness therapies, especially for asymptomatic patients in clinical management. Therefore, more effective early diagnosis lesion-targeted treatments remain a pressing need. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are porous crystalline materials formed by coordination inorganic metal ions organic ligands. Due their unique specific surface area, structural flexibility, functional versatility, MOFs recognized as highly promising candidates diagnostic therapeutic applications field VDs. In this review, potential act biosensors, contrast agents, artificial nanozymes, multifunctional agents treatment from perspective, highlighting integration between methods with generalized. Cerebrovascular diseases are caused by issues in the brain’s blood vessels, resulting ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes. The association between serum lipid profile or stroke has shown conflicting results some studies. We conducted a comprehensive review meta-analysis to investigate potential link plasma cerebrovascular disease. Our study followed guidelines of PRISMA 2021 for systematic reviews meta-analysis, conducting thorough analysis. searched multiple databases, including Medline, Google Scholar, Scopus, Web Science, Embase, identify studies on profiles diseases. included published up June 2021. After searching various 24,346 were found. Finally, 36 meta-analysis. estimated odds ratio (95% CI) different total cholesterol levels be 1.12 (1.02–1.22). ratios LDL, HDL, triglyceride 1.02 (0.98–1.07), P < 0.001, 0.97 (0.93–1.02), 1.01 (0.97–1.04), respectively. According Egger’s test, no noteworthy publication bias was found (coefficient: −0.26, : 0.919). this risk increases with increase level. It discovered that there is notable correlation incidence varying triglycerides. Further research required validate these findings.

Ischemic stroke is one of the major causes disability and mortality in aged people. A better understanding pathology, mechanism, diagnosis treatment might have important practical implications for patient clinical management, especially patients. Affected by cerebral ischemia, neurons are not capable maintaining cellular respiration metabolism, leading to excitotoxicity calcium overload, which further induce oxidative stress. During stress process, reactive oxygen species massively produced, involved regulation diverse biological processes including lipid, DNA, protein signaling pathways. This review aimed provide a comprehensive overview ischemic stroke, particularly occurred elderly. Our topics included pathogenesis role plays occurrence development. Cognitive impairment is a prevalent complication in chronic kidney disease (CKD), ranging from mild deficits early stages to more severe conditions, such as cognitive and dementia advanced stages. CKD patients exhibit reduced performance memory, attention, language, visuospatial abilities executive functions. Contributing factors include uraemic toxins, structural brain changes, blood-brain barrier dysfunction, anaemia comorbidities like diabetes mellitus. Malnutrition, affecting nearly half of patients, exacerbates decline through inflammation, oxidative stress protein-energy wasting. Nutritional deficiencies, particularly protein, vitamin D, B vitamins, omega-3 fatty acids antioxidants, are linked impaired cognition. Emerging evidence highlights the role gut-brain axis, with gut-derived toxins microbiome alterations contributing dysfunction. Processed foods microplastics further compound risks by promoting inflammation neurotoxicity. Dialysis transplantation offer opportunities for recovery, though challenges remain, haemodialysis patients. interventions, including tailored protein intake, micronutrient supplementation dietary counselling, critical mitigating decline. Addressing comorbidities, targeted nutritional pharmacological strategies, improves outcomes. Integrating psychological social support enhances quality life, given high prevalence anxiety depression Future research should focus on personalized nutrition, gut microbiota modulation routine assessments optimise care. Atherosclerosis and aortic aneurysms are prevalent cardiovascular diseases in the elderly, characterized by chronic inflammation oxidative stress. This study explores role of CircXYLT1 regulating stress vascular remodeling age-related diseases. RNA sequencing revealed a significant upregulation tissues aged mice, highlighting its potential Using carotid artery wire injury model, we performed adeno-associated virus (AAV)-mediated knockdown overexpression CircXYLT1. Key markers, including reactive oxygen species (ROS) malondialdehyde (MDA), were measured. Knockdown increased reduced antioxidant protein expression (SOD, GPX), while led to decreased damage enhanced smooth muscle cell (VSMC) proliferation. Mechanistically, interacted with PTBP1, reducing nuclear localization modulating downstream chemokine signaling pathways. These findings suggest that plays critical regulation, offering as therapeutic target for managing aging populations.
