Feeding and eating disorders (FEDs) are a heterogeneous grouping of at the mind-body interface, with typical onset from childhood into emerging adulthood. They occur along spectrum disordered compensatory weight management behaviors, low to high body weight. Psychiatric comorbidities norm. In contrast other major psychiatric disorders, first-line treatments for FEDs mainly psychological and/or nutrition-focused, medications playing minor adjunctive role. Patients, carers clinicians all have identified personalization treatment as priority. Yet, FEDs, evidence base supporting this is limited. Importantly, related behaviors can serious physical consequences may put patient's life risk. these cases, immediate safety risk considerations least period need be prioritized over efforts care. This paper systematically reviews several key domains that relevant characterization individual patient FED aimed management. These include symptom profile, clinical subtypes, severity, staging, complications consequences, antecedent concomitant conditions, social functioning quality life, neurocognition, cognition emotion, dysfunctional cognitive schemata, personality traits, family history, early environmental exposures, recent stigma, protective factors. Where possible, validated assessment measures use in practice identified. The limitations current pointed out, possible directions future research highlighted. also novel approaches providing more fine-grained sophisticated ways personalize such those utilize neurobiological markers. We additionally outline remote measurement technologies designed delineate patients' illness recovery trajectories facilitate development intervention approaches.

The term "digital phenotype" refers to the digital footprint left by patient-environment interactions. It has potential for both research and clinical applications but challenges our conception of health care opposing 2 distinct approaches medicine: one centered on illness with aim classifying curing disease, other patients, their personal distress, lived experiences. In context mental psychiatry, benefits phenotyping include creating new avenues treatment enabling patients take control own well-being. However, this comes at cost sacrificing fundamental human element psychotherapy, which is crucial addressing patients' distress. viewpoint paper, we discuss advances rendered possible highlight risk that technology may pose partially excluding professionals from diagnosis therapeutic process, thereby foregoing an essential dimension care. We conclude setting out concrete recommendations how improve current so it can be harnessed redefine empowering without alienating them.

While contemporary psychiatry seeks the mechanisms of mental disorders in neurobiology, health problems clearly depend on developmental processes learning and adaptation through ongoing interactions with social environment. Symptoms or emerge specific contexts involve predicaments that cannot be fully characterized terms brain function but require a larger social-ecological view. Causal result can begin anywhere within extended system body-person-environment. In particular, individuals' narrative self-construal, culturally mediated interpretations symptoms coping strategies as well responses others world contribute to disorders, illness experience, recovery. this paper, we outline conceptual basis practical implications hierarchical ecosocial systems view for an integrative approach psychiatric theory practice. The cultural-ecosocial propose understands mind, person situated constituted by cultural self-reflexive processes. This incorporated into pragmatic clinical assessment case formulation characterizes pathology identifies targets intervention.

The development of therapies followed a generalized approach for long time, assuming that single treatment could effectively address various patient populations. However, recent breakthroughs have revealed the limitations this one-size-fits-all paradigm. More recently, field therapeutics has witnessed shift toward other modules, including cell therapies, high molecular weight remedies, personalized medicines, and gene therapies. Such advancements in therapeutic modules potential to revolutionize healthcare pave way medicines are more efficient with minimal side effects. Cell gained considerable attention regenerative medicine. Stem cell-based instance, hold promise tissue repair regeneration, ongoing research focusing on enhancing their efficacy safety. High drugs like peptides proteins emerged as promising because specificity diverse biological functions. Engineered developed targeted drug delivery, immunotherapy, disease-modulation. In medicine, tailored treatments individuals based specific genetic profiling, lifestyle, biomarkers, disease characteristics all implemented. Clinicians optimize outcomes minimize adverse effects, using mutations, yielding remarkable results. Gene revolutionized disorders by directly targeting underlying abnormalities. Innovative techniques, such CRISPR-Cas9 allowed precise editing, opening up possibilities curing previously incurable conditions. conclusion,

The eight biological hallmarks of health that we initially postulated (Cell. 2021 Jan 7;184(1):33-63) include features spatial compartmentalization (integrity barriers, containment local perturbations), maintenance homeostasis over time (recycling & turnover, integration circuitries, rhythmic oscillations) and an array adequate responses to stress (homeostatic resilience, hormetic regulation, repair regeneration). These affect all somatic strata the human body (molecules, organelles, cells, supracellular units, organs, organ systems, systemic circuitries meta-organism). Here postulate mental socioeconomic factors must be added this 8×8 matrix as additional hallmark (“psychosocial adaptation”) stratum interactions”), hence building a 9×9 matrix. Potentially, perturbation each affects psychosocial vice versa. Finally, discuss (patho)physiological bases these interactions their implications for improvement.
