Edible films were produced using casting techniques varying concentrations FG (3.2%–8.8% w/v) RPP (0.2%–1.0%) with aid Central Composite Design (CCD) Response Surface Methodology (RSM) Expert 13's software. The optimal formulation consisted 5.97% (w/v) 0.45% RPP. Dragon fruit (Hylocereus spp.), renowned for its aesthetic appeal and rich antioxidant content, has gained global popularity due to numerous health benefits. In Australia, despite growing commercial interest in cultivating dragon fruit, there is uncertainty local growers stemming from competition with imported varieties. Notably, a lack of comparative research on the shelf-life, activity, phytochemical contents Australian-grown versus which crucial enhancing market competitiveness consumer perception. This study compares content fruits under ambient conditions, addressing competitive challenges faced by growers. Freshly harvested white-flesh undatus) red-flesh (H. polyrhizus) were sourced Queensland Northern Territory an importer Queensland. All assessed key quality parameters including peel color, firmness, weight loss, total soluble solids (TSS), pH, titratable acidity (TA), phenolic (TPC), flavonoid (TFC), ferric reducing power (FRAP), cupric capacity (CUPRAC), betalain (TBC), anthocyanin (TAC). The results indicate that white exhibited average one day longer shelf-life less color degradation, better firmness retention, decline TSS, compared fruits. red showed similar overseas. Antioxidant activities phytochemicals consistently higher throughout their shelf-life. These findings offer physical retain more nutritional value, could enhance marketability.

No significant difference detected between variables in peels, except betacyanins (~295.6 ~299.9 mg/100 g) (~614.1 566.1 mg GAE/100 recorded control MeJA, respectively. In flesh, MeJA-treated possessed highest (~139.2 g), betanin (~356.0 mg/g), (~244.9 TF (~329.0 CE/100 Trolox equivalent capacity (TEAC) (63.2 µmol TE/g) reducing power (~21.5 TE/g).
