Breastfeeding has emerged as a critical factor in understanding and potentially mitigating the risk of breast cancer among women. This review delves into intricate relationship between breastfeeding cancer, elucidating biological mechanisms, protective effects, broader implications for public health. Epidemiological evidence consistently demonstrates correlation reduced with longer durations lactation showing dose-dependent decrease risk. The nexus involves hormonal changes elimination damaged cells, influencing tissue carcinogenesis. Moreover, appears to impact tumor subtypes aggressiveness, particularly demonstrating associations lower risks hormone receptor-negative certain aggressive subtypes. Recognizing significance reducing profound health implications, necessitating comprehensive support, education, policies encourage facilitate breastfeeding.

Metformin, initially prescribed as an oral hypoglycemic medication for type 2 diabetes, has recently gained attention its potential anticancer effects. Its history dates to 1918, when guanidine, a component of the traditional European herb Galega officinalis, was found reduce glycemia. This review precisely examines mechanisms underlying Metformin's effects across various neoplastic conditions. investigation explores complex interactions between metformin and major signaling pathways associated with carcinogenesis, including AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), mTOR, insulin-like growth factor (IGF) pathways. The emphasizes diverse on angiogenesis, inflammation, apoptosis, cellular metabolism in cancer cells. Additionally, new data metformin's capacity alter tumor microenvironment enhance immune surveillance systems against are examined. underscores repurposing oncology, emphasizing clinical relevance adjuvant therapy cancers. provides insightful information about by combining from preclinical studies. These findings not only broaden our knowledge but also open avenues oncology research treatment developments.
