Abstract In this study, supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) was used to extract cannabis essential oil and cannabinoids from the same matrix by changing decarboxylation conditions CO 2 density. Cannabis extracted at 90 bar 50°C (0.288 g/cm 3 density), it mainly composed of α‐pinene, eucalyptol, β‐caryophyllene, selinene. Subsequently, carried out on vegetable matter operating 105°C for 15 min and, then, 120°C 1 h. The largest cannabidiol (2.96% w/w) yield obtained when SFE performed 100 40°C (0.623 density). An effective online fractional separation compounds also SFE, since no cuticular waxes were detected in GC–MS traces products interest. Operating way, expensive, time‐consuming, polluting post‐processing steps not required, producing a ready‐to‐use market.

Medical Cannabis and its major cannabinoids (−)- trans -Δ 9 -tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) cannabidiol (CBD) are gaining momentum for various medical purposes as their therapeutic qualities becoming better established. However, studies regarding efficacy oftentimes inconclusive. This is chiefly because a versatile plant rather than single drug effects do not depend only on the amount of THC CBD. Hundreds cultivars hybrids exist worldwide, each with unique distinct chemical profile. Most focus CBD, but these just two over 140 phytocannabinoids found in addition to milieu terpenoids, flavonoids other compounds potential activities. Different plants contain very different array metabolites varying relative ratios, it interplay between molecules from endocannabinoid system body that determines ultimate response associated adverse effects. Here, we discuss how phytocannabinoid profiles differ depending chemovar types, review factors affect secondary metabolite accumulation including genotype, growth conditions, processing, storage delivery route; highlight make treatment highly complex.
