Epidemiological studies demonstrate that men with periodontitis are also susceptible to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and periodontal treatment can improve the symptom. However, molecular links of this relationship largely unknown. The goal current study was elucidate effects experimental on prostate whether oxidative stress inflammation participated in process. A novel bacterial cellulose (BC)-based composite hydrogel with graphene quantum dots (BC-GQDs) was developed for photodynamic therapy using blue and green light (BC-GQD_blue BC-GQD_green) to target pathogenic biofilms.
