Research on periodontal disease shows periodontitis alters oral microbiome increases antibiotic resistance. Treatments like scaling root planing (SRP), especially when combined with minocycline, improve clinical outcomes reducing harmful bacteria. Comprehensive mechanical debridement antibiotics, probiotics, EMD bone grafts, other adjunctive therapies enhances health. Personalized treatment strategies advanced microbial analyses are crucial for effective management resistance control.

Abstract Orthodontic treatment planning has traditionally relied on manual assessments, which can be time-consuming and prone to errors. The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) the potential revolutionise this process, enhancing accuracy efficiency. A systematic review meta-analysis were conducted evaluate use AI in orthodontic planning. Seven databases searched, studies selected based predetermined criteria. Bias evaluation was performed using QUADAS-AI tool. revealed a significant overall effect favour AI-based methods determining cephalometric landmarks (pooled mean difference [MD]: 2.85, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.48, 4.22) teeth segmentation MD: 2.89, CI: 1.53, 4.26). Substantial heterogeneity observed both analyses, indicating differences between studies. However, results suggest that demonstrate superior dental imaging assessments. This provide evidence for efficiency highlight benefits improving speed procedures, as well its augment human capabilities Further research is needed develop refine systems specific applications.

Background: In recent years, there has been remarkable growth in AI-based applications healthcare, with a significant breakthrough marked by the launch of large language models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT and Google Bard. Patients health professional students commonly utilize these due to their accessibility. The increasing use LLMs healthcare necessitates an evaluation ability generate accurate reliable responses. Objective: This study assessed performance answering orthodontic-related queries through systematic review meta-analysis. Methods: A comprehensive search PubMed, Web Science, Embase, Scopus, Scholar was conducted up 31 October 2024. quality included studies evaluated using Prediction model Risk Bias Assessment Tool (PROBAST), R Studio software (Version 4.4.0) employed for meta-analysis heterogeneity assessment. Results: Out 278 retrieved articles, 10 were included. most used LLM (10/10, 100% papers), followed Google’s Bard/Gemini (3/10, 30% Microsoft’s Bing/Copilot AI (2/10, 20% papers). Accuracy primarily Likert scales, while DISCERN tool frequently applied reliability indicated that LLMs, ChatGPT-4 other models, do not significantly differ generating responses related specialty orthodontics. forest plot revealed Standard Mean Deviation 0.01 [CI: 0.42–0.44]. No observed between experimental group (ChatGPT-3.5, Gemini, Copilot) control (ChatGPT-4). However, exhibited high PROBAST risk bias lack standardized tools. Conclusions: extensively variety tasks demonstrated advanced encouraging outcomes compared thus can be regarded valuable enhancing educational learning experiences. While responses, is compromised absence peer-reviewed references, necessitating expert oversight applications.

ABSTRACT Objectives To evaluate the reliability of information produced by artificial intelligence-based program ChatGPT in terms accuracy and relevance, as assessed orthodontists, dental students, individuals seeking orthodontic treatment. Materials Methods Frequently asked curious questions four basic areas related to orthodontics were prepared (Version 4.0), answers evaluated three different groups (senior treatment, orthodontists). Questions these about: clear aligners (CA), lingual (LO), esthetic braces (EB), temporomandibular disorders (TMD). The Global Quality Scale (GQS) Criteria for Consumer Health Information (DISCERN) scale. Results total mean DISCERN score on CA students was 51.7 ± 9.38, patients 57.2 10.73 and, orthodontists 47.4 4.78 (P = .001). Comparison GQS scores LO among groups: (3.53 0.78), (4.40 0.72), (3.63 0.72) < Intergroup comparison evaluations about TMD examined scale, with highest value given group (57.83 11.47) lowest orthodontist (45.90 11.84). When quality evaluation EB examined, it >3 all (students: 3.50 0.78; patients: 4.17 0.87; orthodontists: 0.82). Conclusions has significant potential usability patient education field if is developed necessary updates are made.
