Early diagnosis and monitoring of chronic kidney disease (CKD)-related myocardial injury are crucial for improving outcomes. To evaluate tissue characteristics deformation during the occurrence evolution CKD in a rabbit model using multiparametric cardiac MRI. Longitudinal animal study. A total 26 rabbits (14 undergoing cationic bovine serum albumin (C-BSA) injection to induce CKD, 12 sham saline serve as controls). 3, cine, T1 mapping, T2 mapping sequences. Cardiac MRI was performed at baseline, 4, 6, 8 weeks both groups. Global radial, circumferential, longitudinal strain (GRS, GCS GLS, respectively), native T1, T2, extracellular volume (ECV) were assessed each time point. Collagen fraction (CVF) assessed, immunohistochemical staining IL-6 antibody. Pathology used reference standard comparison with findings. The diagnostic accuracy individual combined MR parameters detecting early CKD-related determined. Descriptive statistics, Spearman correlation (r), area under receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC). p-value < 0.05 considered statistically significant. Compared controls, GLS significantly lower, ECV higher group 4 post-injection. At 6 weeks, further reduced, values increased compared controls. Myocardial positively correlated CVF (r = 0.584 0.754, 0.661). combination showed superior subclinical single indicators (AUC 0.846, 95% CI: 0.731-0.962). appropriate MRI-based features strain, fibrosis, inflammation may an marker injury. Abstract Background and aims Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is associated with inflammation abnormal lipid metabolism. However, a single inflammatory index or cannot accurately predict the prognosis of CVD independently because it prone to be affected by various confounding factors. Methods This population-based cohort study included 6,554 participants from China Health Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) investigate correlations. In present study, occurrence events such as stroke heart was evaluated considering self-reported diagnoses at beginning during wave 4, restricted cubic spline model used potential nonlinear relationships in addition multivariate logistic regression models. Stratified analyses were performed examine how sociodemographic characteristics may influence results. Results Seven years follow-up (2011–2018) revealed that 786 people (11.99%) developed CVD. According adjusted model, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP)-to-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) ratio contributing factor risk (OR 1.31, 95% CI 1.05–1.64). addition, relationship observed between hs-CRP/HDL-C new CVD, stroke, cardiac issues ( P overall <0.05, Pnonlinear <0.05). Moreover, noteworthy associations age detected stratified analysis = 0.048), indicating younger had more negative effects high ratio. Conclusions significant for problems. Early intervention patients increased ratios further reduce incidence focusing on independent markers markers.

Abstract Background It is well-known that systemic inflammation plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis and prognosis of acute myocardial infarction (AMI). The immune-inflammation index (SII, platelet × neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio) novel used for characterization severity inflammation. Recent studies have identified high SII level as an independent predictor poor outcomes patients with AMI. We aimed to investigate prognostic implications AMI without diabetes mellitus (DM). Methods included 2111 from February 2014 March 2018. Multivariable Cox regression analyses were performed estimate hazard ratios (HRs) 95% confidence intervals (CIs) all-cause death cardiovascular (CV) death. Multiple imputation was missing covariates. Results Of (mean age: 65.2 ± 12.2 years, 77.5% males) analyzed, 789 (37.4%) had DM. Generalized additive model showed increased, C-reactive protein peak TnT elevated while LVEF declined, these associations similar During median 2.5 years follow-up, 210 deaths 154 CV occurred. When treating continuous variable, higher log-transformed significantly associated increased mortality (HR: 1.57, 95%CI: 1.02–2.43) 1.85, 95%CI 1.12–3.05), such association also significant diabetics (HRs 95%CIs 2.90 [1.40–6.01] 3.28 [1.43–7.57], respectively) not nondiabetics (P interaction 0.019 0.049, respectively). Additionally, compared lowest tertiles SII, those highest possessed 1.82, 1.19–2.79) after multivariable adjustment, this relationship remained pronounced 2.00 [1.13–3.55] 2.09 [1.10–3.98], but observed 1.21 [0.75–1.97] 1.60 [0.89–2.90], Our restricted cubic splines indicated linear between only diabetics. Conclusions In DM, survival may be helpful patient’s risk stratification.

Atherosclerosis serves as the fundamental pathology for a variety of cardiovascular disorders, with its pathogenesis being closely tied to complex interplay among lipid metabolism, oxidative stress, and inflammation. Wogonoside is natural flavonoid extracted from Scutellaria baicalensis biological activities, including anti-inflammatory, hypolipidemic, cardiac function improvement properties. Despite these known effects, specific role wogonoside in context atherosclerosis remains be elucidated. To validate efficacy treatment investigate possible therapeutic mechanisms. Network pharmacology was used obtain core targets signaling pathways that may efficacious wogonoside, which were validated using molecular docking dynamics simulations. further pathway, we performed vivo experiments apolipoprotein E (ApoE)-/- mice. Abstract Background The Composite Dietary Antioxidant Index (CDAI) is a dietary antioxidant score that plays protective role in many diseases, including depression, osteoporosis, papillomavirus infection, etc. However, the association between CDAI and coronary heart disease (CHD) currently unclear. We aim to explore correlations risk of CHD. Methods Eligible participants were obtained from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 1999 2018. All this cross-sectional study are required undergo two separate 24-h recall interviews. Average daily intakes antioxidants used calculate CDAI. CHD status was determined through questionnaire. Weighted multiple logistic regression models evaluate relationship Moreover, we also restricted cubic spline Non-linear correlations. Abstract Context Despite the important role of inflammation-related factors on occurrence chronic diseases, there is still conflicting evidence about effects ketogenic diet (KD) these factors. Objective In order to obtain a better viewpoint, this study aimed comprehensively investigate KD markers. Data Sources To find pertinent randomized controlled trials up August 2023, databases including PubMed/Medline, Web Science, Scopus, Cochrane Library, and Embase were searched. Extraction This included all investigating C-reactive protein (CRP), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), interleukin (IL)-6, IL-8, IL-10 levels. Pooled weighted mean difference (WMD) 95% confidence intervals (CIs) achieved by random-effects model analysis for best estimation outcomes. Analysis Forty-four studies in article. The pooled findings showed that has an effect lowering TNF-α (WMD: −0.32 pg/mL; CI: −0.55, −0.09; P = 0.007) IL-6 −0.27 −0.52, −0.02; 0.036) compared with control groups. However, no significant was reported others inflammation marker–related results subgroup that, following ≤8 weeks people aged ≤50 years, reduction levels significantly higher than other addition, body mass index greater 30 kg/m2 ≤30 kg/m2, decreased extent after receiving KD. Conclusions Consequently, adherence appears improve some markers associated inflammation, IL-6.
