There has been renewed interest in the application of endophytic fungi to control phytopathogenic fungi, which cause significant damage crop health, ultimately leading losses agricultural productivity. Endophytic inhibit pathogens via different modes action—mycoparasitism, competition (for nutrients and ecological niches), antibiosis, induction plant defense—thus demonstrating ability a wide range growth phases habitats. However, many studies have conducted under laboratory conditions, there is huge lack real field testing was performed. Aspergillus, Clonostachys, Coniothyrium, Trichoderma, Verticillium proven be most effective fungal biocontrol agents. Trichoderma regarded as promising group commercial formulations. In this study, we attempted emphasize significance endophytes controlling while reporting recent advances biology application.

Polygala crotalarioides, a perennial herbaceous plant found in southwest China, has the potential to be used treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. Endophytic fungi that reside within medicinal herbs play an important ecological role their host plants and can serve as valuable source for identifying active components. However, little is known about diversity, structure endophytic P. crotalarioides. In this study, we investigated community diversity leaves, stems, roots crotalarioides at both 1- 2-year-growth stages using modern culture-independent method (high-throughput sequencing, HTS) culture-based methods. Using HTS, our results revealed richness varied depending on organs growth stages. Specifically, stems leaves exhibited significantly higher compared roots. Additionally, highest was observed 2-year-old plants. At genus level, Fusarium, Colletotrichum, Phoma were most abundant 1-year-old samples, while Cercospora, Apiotrichum, Fusarium prevalent samples.
