Chirality plays an important role in the development of many pharmaceuticals, being a general property ‘handedness’; nevertheless, large number pharmaceuticals are still marketed and administered as racemates. is all around even within us; indeed, receptors enzymes chiral entities interact specific manner with drugs. Consequently, controlling enantiomeric purity isolating enantiomers from drugs remains crucial subject for analytical, clinical, regulatory purposes, thus, improving drug safety profile. The classical examples spontaneous enantiomerization severe toxicity related to chirality represented by ibuprofen thalidomide, respectively, but numerous other cases have been reported literature. This review intends offer brief overview on most common used therapy treatment various diseases.

Stereoselective synthesis has been emerging as a resourceful tool because it enables the obtaining of compounds with biological interest and high enantiomeric purity. Flavonoids are natural products several activities. Owing to their potential aiming achieve enantiomerically pure forms, methodologies stereoselective have implemented. Those approaches encompass chalcone epoxidation, Sharpless asymmetric dihydroxylation, Mitsunobu reaction, cycloaddition 1,4-benzoquinone. Chiral auxiliaries, organo-, organometallic, biocatalysis, well chiral pool approach were also employed goal bioactive flavonoids ratio. Additionally, employment Diels–Alder reaction based on stereodivergent racemic mixture strategy or using catalyst complexes synthesise enantiomers was reported. Furthermore, biomimetic pathways displayed another illustrated by coupling 2-hydroxychalcones driven visible light. Recently, an transfer hydrogen-dynamic kinetic resolution applied (R,R)-cis-alcohols which, in turn, would be used building blocks for flavonoids.

Abstract Rosemary ( Rosmarinus officinalis L.) is one of the most famous spice plants belonging to Lamiaceae family as a remarkably beautiful horticultural plant and economically agricultural crop. The essential oil rosemary has been enthusiastically welcome in whole world for hundreds years. Now, it wildly prevailing promising functional food additive human health. More importantly, due its significant aroma, food, nutritional value, also plays an role food/feed packaging industries. Modern industrial development fundamental scientific research have extensively revealed unique phytochemical constituents with biologically meaningful activities, which closely related diverse health functions. In this review, we provide comprehensively systematic perspective on by summarizing structures various pharmacological components, activities their molecular regulatory networks required developments, recent advances applications industry. Finally, temporary limitations future trends regarding components are discussed prospected. Hence, review covering developing prospects desirable demand facilitate better understanding, will serve reference many insights promotion foods rosemary.

Life is chiral, as its constituents consist, to a large degree, of optically active molecules, be they macromolecules (proteins, nucleic acids) or small biomolecules. Hence, these molecules interact disparately with different enantiomers chiral compounds, creating preference for particular enantiomer. This discrimination special importance in medicinal chemistry, since many pharmacologically compounds are used racemates-equimolar mixtures two enantiomers. Each may express behaviour terms pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, and toxicity. The application only one enantiomer improve the bioactivity drug, well reduce incidence intensity adverse effects. significance regarding structure natural products great majority contain several centres. In present survey, we discuss impact chirality on anticancer chemotherapy highlight recent developments this area. Particular attention has been given synthetic derivatives drugs origin, naturally occurring constitute major pool new pharmacological leads. Studies have selected which report differential activity activities single racemate.

Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) poses a significant threat to women's health as malignant tumour. The limited efficacy of chemotherapy has spurred the exploration alternative therapeutic strategies. Natural products serve foundation for drug discovery, with structural alterations playing crucial role in process pharmaceutical exploration. This study introduced new chrysin derivative, HYS-072, which includes urea group and demonstrates micromolar equipotent inhibition MDA-MB-231 cells (IC50 = 3.3 μM). In vitro investigations have shown that HYS-072 triggers apoptosis autophagy by modulating PI3K/AKT/mTOR signalling pathway. xenograft model conducted vivo, demonstrated suppressing growth through modulation autophagy-related pathways. Collectively, shows promise potential agent TNBC. research underscores utilising natural product-based induction strategy TNBC treatment.
