Molecular phylogeny and morphological characteristics of collections diatrypaceous fungi from Guizhou Province, China, lead to the establishment a new genus, Stromatolinea , identification four species two combinations. The taxa were found growing on dead culms Phyllostachys bamboo. genus is distinguished by its well-developed, discrete linear stromata with yellow interior tissue allantoid subhyaline ascospores. newly described are grisea S. guizhouensis hydei xishuiensis . Additionally, combinations, linearis phaselina proposed based comparative analysis morphology. Phylogenetic analyses conducted using ITS TUB2 sequences. study includes comprehensive descriptions, illustrations, phylogenetic tree depicting placement taxa.

Abstract Diaporthe is an important plant pathogenic genus, which also occurs as endophytes and saprobes. Many species that are morphologically similar proved to be genetically distinct. The current understanding of taxonomy by applying morphological characters, host associations multi-gene phylogeny problematic leading overestimation/underestimation numbers this significant fungal genus. Currently, there no definite boundaries for the accepted species. Hence, present study aims re-structure genus , based on single gene phylogenies (ITS, tef tub cal his ), justified GCPSR (Genealogical Concordance Phylogenetic Species Recognition) methodology well coalescence-based models (PTP—Poisson Tree Processes mPTP—multi-rate Poisson Processes). Considering all available type isolates divided into seven sections while 13 15 species-complexes proposed. To support re-assessment 82 obtained from woody hosts in Guizhou Province China were investigated revealed presence two novel 17 previously known Synonymies specified 31 molecular data studies. Dividing several specific phylogenetic analyses can avoid construction lengthy trees entire future taxonomic In other words, when one conducts research related only appropriate section need selected analysis.

Although certain hypersaline endorheic lagoons in Spain have been investigated to evaluate the composition, spatial structure, and ecological roles of their macro- microbiota, fungi inhabiting these niches remain largely unexplored. In this study, we isolated several microfungi from Salada Grande de Chiprana La Playa lagoons, located Saladas (Directed Natural Reserve Ramsar Wetland) Sástago-Bujaraloz (Ramsar Wetland), respectively. As a result morphological characterization phylogenetic analysis using four informative molecular markers, report discovery two new species genus Montagnula (M.), M. globospora terricola, as well one Monosporascus (Mo.), Mo. auratispora. globospora, sediment sample lagoon, is only producing unicellular, globose ascospores inside cleistothecial ascomata with cephalothecoid peridium. terricola was originally soil Malawi (ex-type strain). However, also identified another strain collected at lagoon. The remarkable features are production non-cephalothecoid bicellular, bi-cupulate ascospores. Regarding auratispora, it sediments characterized by golden-brown that do not turn black age. Also, due results our analysis, transferred Herpotrichia striatispora Montagnula, striatispora, Montangula jonessi Neomontagnula (N.), N. jonessi.

Whilst conducting surveys of lignicolous microfungi in Yunnan Province, we collected a large number taxa that resemble Montagnula (Didymosphaeriaceae, Pleosporales). Our phylogenetic study on involved analysing sequence data from ribosomal RNA genes (nc18S, nc28S, ITS) and protein-coding ( rpb 2, tef 1-α). We present biphasic approach (morphological molecular evidence) supports the recognition four new species viz ., M. lijiangensis , menglaensis shangrilana thevetiae . The global diversity is also inferred metabarcoding published records based field observations. Metabarcoding GlobalFungi observations provided insights into distribution patterns Studies conducted Asia, Australia, Europe, North America revealed concentration species, suggesting regional variations ecological preferences distribution. were found various substrates, with sediments yielding high sequences. Poaceae emerged as significant contributor, indicating potential association between grasses. Culture-based investigations previously associations 105 plant genera (in 45 families), across 55 countries, highlighting their wide range adaptability.
