Stingless
bee
propolis
has
emerged
globally
as
a
new
source
of
bioactive
molecules
that
can
advance
human
health.
However,
limited
research
been
conducted
on
Australian
stingless
propolis.
This
study
investigated
the
chemical
composition
and
biological
activity
produced
by
bees
Tetragonula
carbonaria
from
Gibberagee,
distinct
region
New
South
Wales
state
in
Australia.
Using
bioassay-guided
fractionation,
twelve
compounds
were
isolated,
including
six
A-ring
methylated
flavonoids.
Nine
these
demonstrated
strong
scavenging
against
2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl
radicals,
with
five
exhibiting
greater
potency
than
vitamin
C.
Chemical
structures
seven
additional
minor
flavonoids
determined
through
an
intensive
MS/MS
data
analysis.

silico
screening
19
revealed
all,
except
for
gallic
acid,
displayed
higher
binding
affinity
to

Abstract
Background
Flavonols
are
phytoconstituents
of
biological
and
medicinal
importance.
In
addition
to
functioning
as
antioxidants,
flavonols
may
play
a
role
in
antagonizing
diabetes,
cancer,
cardiovascular
disease,
viral
bacterial
diseases.
Quercetin,
myricetin,
kaempferol,
