Purpose of Review: The relationship between cardiovascular health and diet is evolving. Lifestyle modifications including changes are the primary approach in managing cardiometabolic risk factors. Thus, understanding different diets their impact on important guiding secondary prevention disease (CVD). Yet, there many barriers limitations to adopting a heart healthy diet. Recent Findings: Diets rich fruits, vegetables, legumes, whole grains, lean protein sources, with minimization/avoidance processed foods, trans-fats, sugar sweetened beverages, recommended by guidelines. Mediterranean, DASH, plant-based have all proven cardioprotective varying degrees endorsed professional healthcare societies, while other emerging such as ketogenic intermittent fasting require more long-term study. effects gut microbiome opened new path for precision medicine improve certain dietary metabolites, trimethylamine N-oxide, factors, along diversity gene pathways relation CVD management, being explored. Summary: In this review, we provide comprehensive up-to-date overview established health. We discuss effectiveness various most importantly approaches nutritional counseling where traditional non-traditional practiced, helping patients adopt diets. address regarding food insecurity, poor access, socioeconomic burden. Lastly, need multidisciplinary team-based approach, role nutrition specialist, implementing culturally-tailored recommendations. Understanding finding ways overcome heart-healthy will take us miles management. Keywords: disease, diet, guidelines, nutrition, disparities,

Achieving synchronization between the central and peripheral body clocks is essential for ensuring optimal metabolic function. Meal timing an emerging field of research that investigates influence eating patterns on our circadian rhythm, metabolism, overall health. This narrative review examines relationship meal timing, clock genes, hormones, It analyzes existing literature experimental data to explore connection mealtime, rhythms, processes. The available evidence highlights importance aligning mealtime with body’s natural rhythms promote health prevent disorders. Specifically, studies show consuming meals later in day associated elevated prevalence disorders, while early time-restricted eating, such as having breakfast earlier dinner, improves levels glucose blood substrate oxidation. Circadian including cortisol melatonin, interact mealtimes play vital roles regulating Cortisol, aligned dawn diurnal mammals, activates energy reserves, stimulates appetite, influences gene expression, synchronizes clocks. Consuming during periods melatonin levels, specifically night, has been correlated potential implications tolerance. Understanding mechanisms synchronization, genetics, interactions chronotype, sleep duration, hormonal changes, provides valuable insights optimizing dietary strategies timing. knowledge contributes improved well-being by rhythm.

Abstract Purpose of the Review This review summarizes recent evidence for a role clock in adipose tissue physiology and impact circadian desynchrony on development obesity. Recent Findings Circadian disruptions due to shift work, late time eating nighttime light exposure are associated with obesity its metabolic cardiovascular consequences. Studies mice harboring tissue-specific gain/loss function mutations genes revealed that acts multiple pathways control adipogenesis, lipogenesis/lipolysis thermogenesis. Time-restricted (TRE), aligning feeding active period restore function, represents promising strategy curb Summary While TRE has shown clear benefits, especially participants at higher cardiometabolic risk, current studies limited size duration. Larger, well-controlled warranted conclusively assess effects relation status gender. Field shift-workers, comparing permanent night versus rotating shifts, also necessary identify optimal window TRE.

Abstract Time‐restricted feeding (TRF) holds promise for alleviating cognitive decline in aging, albeit the precise mechanism via gut‐brain axis remains elusive. In a clinical trial, we observed, first time, that 4‐month TRF ameliorated impairments among Alzheimer's disease (AD) patients. Experiments 5xFAD mice corroborated gut microbiota‐dependent effect of on mitigating dysfunction, amyloid‐beta deposition, and neuroinflammation. Multi‐omics integration linked Bifidobacterium pseudolongum ( B. ) propionic acid (PA) with key genes AD pathogenesis. Oral supplementation or PA mimicked TRF's protective effects. Positron emission tomography imaging confirmed PA's blood‐brain barrier penetration, while knockdown free fatty receptor 3 (FFAR3) diminished benefits. Notably, observed positive correlation between fecal improved function an cohort, further indicating enhanced production. These findings highlight microbiota‐metabolites‐brain as pivotal benefits, proposing potential therapies.

Overnutrition is a risk factor for various human diseases, including neurodegenerative metabolic disorders, and cancers. Therefore, targeting overnutrition represents simple but attractive strategy the treatment of these increasing public health threats. Fasting as dietary intervention combating has been extensively studied. practiced millennia, only recently have its roles in molecular clock, gut microbiome, tissue homeostasis function emerged. can slow aging most species protect against These centuried unfading adventures explorations suggest that fasting potential to delay help prevent treat diseases while minimizing side effects caused by chronic interventions. In this review, recent animal studies concerning role underlying mechanism physiology pathology are summarized, therapeutic highlighted, combination pharmacological discussed new regimen diseases.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) represents a major public health concern and is associated with substantial global burden of liver-related cardiovascular-related morbidity mortality. High total energy intake coupled unhealthy consumption ultra-processed foods saturated fats have long been regarded as dietary drivers NAFLD. However, there an accumulating body evidence demonstrating that the timing across day also important determinant individual risk for NAFLD metabolic conditions. This review summarises available observational epidemiological data describing associations between eating patterns disease, including negative effects irregular meal patterns, skipping breakfast night-time on health. We suggest these harmful behaviours deserve greater consideration in stratification management patients particularly 24-hour society continuous availability food up to 20% population now engaged shiftwork mistimed patterns. draw studies reporting liver-specific impact Ramadan, which unique real-world opportunity explore physiological fasting. By highlighting from preclinical pilot human studies, we present further biological rationale manipulating improve discuss how this may be mediated through restoration natural circadian rhythms. Lastly, comprehensively landscape trials intermittent fasting time-restricted offer look future about strategies benefit non-alcoholic steatohepatitis.
