Propolis is a natural substance collected by honey bees from various plants such as, poplar, palm, pine, conifer secretions, gums, resins, mucilage and leaf buds. Originally, it as an antiseptic meant preventing bee-hive microbial infections along with decomposition of intruders. Additionally, propolis has been folk medicine centuries. Abstract Propolis, a complex bee product, is source of numerous bioactive principles, beneficial for human health, therefore it intensively studied. In the present work, extracts propolis from Bihor Romanian County were studied to identify relationship between polyphenolic derivatives profile and their antioxidant antimicrobial activity. Extracts obtained using water 25%, 50%, 70% ethanolic solutions (w/w), at 2:1, 4:1, 6:1 liquid: solid ratios (w/w). 21 quantified by UHPLC-MS, proving that composition strongly depends on solvent. Accumulating evidence shows that oxidative stress and inflammation contribute to the development of cardiovascular disease. It has been suggested propolis possesses antioxidant anti-inflammatory activities. In this study, effects main flavonoids (chrysin, pinocembrin, galangin, pinobanksin) extract were researched. The results showed cellular ROS (Reactive oxygen species) levels, enzymes, Nrf2 (Nuclear factor erythroid 2-related 2) nuclear translocation, expression NQO1 (NAD(P)H:quinone oxidoreductase 1) HO-1 (heme oxygenase regulated by different concentrations individual extract, which good pro-oxidant effects.
