Triclosan (TCS), a broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent, has been widely used in personal care products, medical plastic cutting boards, and food storage containers. Colgate Total® toothpaste, containing 10 mM TCS, is effective controlling biofilm formation maintaining gingival health. Abstract Background Triclosan [5-chloro-2-(2,4-dichlorophenoxy) phenol, TCS], a common antimicrobial additive in many personal care and health products, is frequently detected human blood urine. Therefore, it has been considered an emerging potentially toxic pollutant recent years. Long-term exposure to TCS suggested exert endocrine disruption effects, promote liver fibrogenesis tumorigenesis. This study was aimed at clarifying the underlying cellular molecular mechanisms of hepatotoxicity effect initiation stage. Methods C57BL/6 mice were exposed different dosages for 2 weeks organ toxicity evaluated by various measurements including complete count, histological analysis quantification. Triclosan (TCS), a common antibacterial agent found in numerous personal care products, has been detected wastewater and surface water is now of significant environmental concern due to its health impacts. To mitigate this issue, various treatment methods have explored. This study investigated the efficacy Macadamia nut shell activated carbon (MAC) as an economical adsorbent for triclosan removal. A pulsed-bed column adsorption technique was applied enhance capacity prolong operational lifespan column. Batch experiments were conducted explore parameters capacity.
