The global population is on a trajectory of continuous growth, with estimates projecting an increase from 7.7 billion in 2019 to approximately 9.7 by 2050. Longevity also expected rise rapidly, advancements healthcare contributing increased life expectancies and the maximum lifespan. aging process accompanied different changes, often leading decline daily activities susceptibility disease. Age-related changes can cause cellular damage subsequent death. Oxidative stress inflammation play significant roles this molecular mitochondrial dysfunction. Active has been associated improved quality reduced risk morbidity premature mortality. In context, Mediterranean diet emerged as promising approach promoting healthy sustainability. phytochemical compounds within have linked lower developing cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, obesity, cancer neurodegenerative diseases. findings peer-reviewed articles regarding use sustainable dietary pattern written Portuguese, Spanish or English were included narrative literature review. This pattern’s emphasis consumption fresh local food aligns both health environmental sustainability goals. work provides comprehensive review benefits its components highlights importance approach.

Abstract Aging is characterized by systemic chronic inflammation, which accompanied cellular senescence, immunosenescence, organ dysfunction, and age-related diseases. Given the multidimensional complexity of aging, there an urgent need for a systematic organization inflammaging through dimensionality reduction. Factors secreted senescent cells, known as senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP), promote inflammation can induce senescence in normal cells. At same time, accelerates immune resulting weakened function inability to clear cells inflammatory factors, creates vicious cycle senescence. Persistently elevated levels organs such bone marrow, liver, lungs cannot be eliminated leading damage aging-related Therefore, has been recognized endogenous factor elimination could potential strategy anti-aging. Here we discuss at molecular, cellular, organ, disease levels, review current aging models, implications cutting-edge single cell technologies, well anti-aging strategies. Since preventing alleviating diseases improving overall quality life are ultimate goals research, our highlights critical features mechanisms along with latest developments future directions providing theoretical foundation novel practical

Abstract Cellular senescence represents an irreversible state of cell-cycle arrest during which cells secrete senescence-associated secretory phenotypes, including inflammatory factors and chemokines. Additionally, these exhibit apoptotic resistance phenotype. serves a pivotal role not only in embryonic development, tissue regeneration, tumor suppression but also the pathogenesis age-related degenerative diseases, malignancies, metabolic kidney diseases. The renal tubular epithelial (RTEC) constitutes critical cellular event progression acute injury (AKI). RTEC inhibits regeneration repair processes and, concurrently, promotes transition AKI to chronic disease via mechanisms underlying are multifaceted include telomere shortening or damage, DNA mitochondrial autophagy deficiency, disorders, endoplasmic reticulum stress, epigenetic regulation. Strategies aimed at inhibiting senescence, targeting clearance senescent RTEC, promoting apoptosis hold promise for enhancing prognosis AKI. This review primarily focuses on characteristics impact intervening AKI, aiming provide foundation understanding providing potentially effective approaches treatment.
