Fungi

an
understudied
resource

potential

products

greatly
improve
human
well-being.
In

current
paper,
we
highlight
some
important
discoveries
and
developments
in
applied
mycology
interdisciplinary

Abstract
The
global
diversity
of
fungi
has
been
estimated
using
several
different
approaches.
There
is
somewhere

2–11
million
species,
but
the

described
taxa
around
150,000,

tiny
fraction

this
paper,
we
examine

genera
as
case
studies
to
establish
trends
in
fungal
species
descriptions,
