Abstract Background Conioselinum anthriscoides (H. Boissieu) Pimenov & Kljuykov, also known as Ligusticum chuanxiong Hort. is a perennial Umbelliferae herb, whose dried rhizome commonly called Chuanxiong Rhizoma. Rhizoma widely used in TCM, especially for cardiocerebrovascular and gynecological diseases. However, these studies are scattered there no review that can centralize the results of studies. The authors summarized this by collecting research on chemical, pharmacological, toxicological published various publications over past 20 years. Aims purpose to summarize current experimental explore its mechanism action. Methods Web Science, PubMed, CBM, CNKI, Medline, Embase, Elsevier, Springer, Wiley Online Library, Scholar, other databases were searched, nearly one hundred collected review. Results Discussion composed essential oil, terpenes, alkaloids, polysaccharide, organic acids, ceramides, cerebrosides. It has functions promoting blood circulation, removing stasis, antibacterial, antiviral, calming mind sleep. Now it be treat diseases, neurodegenerative disease, psoriasis, rectal cancer, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis. Conclusions In years, large number data have confirmed contains rich effective metabolites, huge medicinal potential, wide range treatments.

Abstract Introduction Moringa oleifera Lam. is widely cultivated and applied in tropical subtropical areas. Numerous studies have been focused on the antioxidant capacity of M. leaves, but its correlated bioactive phytochemicals remain elusive. Objective In order to search for corresponding chemical compounds from leaves responsible their activity, correlations between phytochemical fingerprints 15 batches activities were investigated by using chemometric analysis. Material Methods Fifteen extracted with 90% ethanol solution, estimated high‐performance liquid chromatography‐ultraviolet‐electrospray ionisation tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC‐UV/ESI‐MS/MS), three detected methods, namely 2,2‐diphenyl‐1‐picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) assay, 2,2′‐azinobis‐(3‐ethylbenzthiazoline‐6‐sulfonic acid) (ABTS) assay ferric‐reducing power (FRAP) respectively. Chemometric analysis was then reveal capacity. Results leaf extracts exhibited strong activities, which 24 common identified LC–MS. Furthermore, partial least squares (PLS) indicated that 14 , 16 18 23 main potential effective components at two tests. They as kaempferol 3‐ O ‐rutinoside, quercetin ‐(6″‐malonyl‐glucoside), ‐glucoside, derivative, Conclusion The capacities revealed analysis, provides an alternative method screening leaves.

Amomum compactum Soland Ex. Maton from the Zingiberaceae, known as Java cardamom in Indonesia, is a valuable medicinal plant because of its bioactivity. This study aims to identify and evaluate bioactive compounds antioxidant activity parts (leaves, stems, rhizomes, fruits (pods seeds)) explore their bioactivity values. GC-MS analysis was used essential oils. Antioxidant carried out by two methods: DPPH FRAP. four obtained 47 monoterpenes (33), sesquiterpenes (9), hydrocarbons (1), fatty alcohols acids acid esters diterpenoids (1). 1.8-Cineol most dominant secondary metabolite found every part oil, with highest content produced steam oil (50.78%), followed (45.59%). Furthermore, FRAP ranged 19.07 (leaves) – 27.38 (stems) 93.43 115.99 (fruits) mol TEAC/g FW. The maximum fruit oil. Thus, it can be source producing metabolites antioxidants pharmaceutical industry.

Panax notoginseng is one of the traditional precious and bulk-traded medicinal materials in China. Its anticoagulant activity related to its saponin composition. However, correlation between saponins activities P. from different origins identification have been rarely reported. We aimed analyze components develop a rapid origin method.Pharmacological experiments, HPLC, ATR-FTIR spectroscopy (variable selection) combined with chemometrics methods main roots four (359 individuals) Yunnan Province were conducted. The pharmacological experiments HPLC showed that content was not significantly different. It highest Wenshan Prefecture (9.86%). The coagulation time prolonged observe strongest effect (4.99 s), positively correlated contents three saponins. ginsenoside Rg1 had greatest influence on effect. results show variable selection method could extract small number variables containing valid information improve performance model. importance projection has best ability identify notoginseng; accuracy training set test 0.975 0.984, respectively. This powerful analytical tool for analysis Chinese origins.

Senkyunolides are a group of phthalide molecules that exist in Umbelliferae plants, with the highest abundance Ligusticum chuanxiong Hort, medicinal herb therapeutic applications various diseases such as coronary heart disease, migraine, and rheumatism. Modern research has highlighted anti-inflammatory, analgesic, cardiovascular-protective properties senkyunolides. Recently, some novel effects, antibacterial, anti-osteoporosis, anti-fibrosis, have been reported for senkyunolides, indicating their diverse biological activities. In addition, because its high bioavailability ability to cross blood-brain barrier (BBB), particularly exemplified by senkyunolide I (SEI), holds promise treatment brain diseases. Multiple signaling pathways related pharmacological activities toll-like receptor 4/nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) signaling, extracellular signal–regulated kinase (ERK) pathway, p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase, c-Jun N-terminal (JNK) pathways. Herbal combinations are regarded as basic strategy in oriental medicine with various purposes. Ephedrae herba (EH) and Coicis semen (CS) two herbal medicines used to treat obesity many prescriptions, yet the effect significance of this pair have not been evaluated. This study is elucidate a novel pair, EH-CS, on identify key synergistic mechanism underlying it.We investigated network herbs comprising anti-obesity prescriptions. Using tools pharmacology, we compound-target interactions EH CS combination predict their effects combination. Five EH-CS samples different ratios were prepared investigate efficacies adipocytes.1-mode analysis prescriptions based literature review revealed importance The comprised equivalent weights (1:1) most potently reduced mature adipocyte adiposity, although several markers adipogenesis lipid synthesis more suppressed by pure EH. PTGS2 (COX-2 gene) expression, common target deduced analysis, was affected extract treatments. However, at high concentration (25 μg/ml) notably increased expression without adversely affecting cell viability. same markedly decreased gene expression. These results show that compounds act concert enhance pharmacological EH, but control unexpected treatment.
