Nanoplastics (NPs) cause serious contamination of drinking water and potential damage to human health. This study aimed investigate the effects NPs with different particle sizes concentrations on reproductive function male mice. In this study, free exposure was used expose BALB/C mice PS-NPs (20 nm, 200 1000 nm) at 0.1 mg/L, 1 5 mg/L for 4 months. The assessed after exposure, fecal blood samples were collected macrogenomics metabolomics. results showed that resulted in reduced testicular organ coefficients, decreased sperm quality, altered tissue structure, disturbed sex hormone levels, abnormal levels inflammatory factors oxidative stress. Furthermore, found NP affected alteration gut communities metabolic pathways related reproduction, such as Clostridium glutathione metabolism. Importantly, we an effect size function. future, more attention should be paid smaller NPs.

Ferroptosis is a type of nonapoptotic cell death that characteristically caused by phospholipid peroxidation promoted radical reactions involving iron. Researchers have identified many the protein factors are encoded genes promote ferroptosis. Glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4) key enzyme protects phospholipids from and suppresses ferroptosis in glutathione-dependent manner. Thus, dysregulation involved cysteine and/or glutathione metabolism closely associated with From perspective dynamics, actively proliferating cells more prone to than quiescent cells, which suggests species generated during oxygen-involved responsible for lipid peroxidation. Herein, we discuss initial events dominantly occur process energy metabolism, association deficiency. Accordingly, tricarboxylic acid cycle coupled respiratory chain mitochondria main subjects here, this likely source both electrons free Since not only carbohydrates, but also amino acids, especially glutamate, major substrates central dealing nitrogen derived groups contributes subject discussion.

Abstract In women who are getting older, the quantity and quality of their follicles or oocytes decline. This is characterized by decreased ovarian reserve function (DOR), fewer remaining oocytes, lower oocytes. As more choose to delay childbirth, decline in fertility associated with age has become a significant concern for modern women. The oocyte key indicator aging. Many studies suggest that age-related changes energy metabolism may impact quality. Changes affect adenosine 5'-triphosphate (ATP) production, but how related products proteins influence remains largely unknown. review focuses on aging its potential quality, as well therapeutic strategies partially metabolism. research aims enhance our understanding metabolism, identification biomarkers treatment methods.

Radiotherapy is the primary treatment for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC); nonetheless, radioresistance remains leading cause of localized recurrence. Our study demonstrates a significant increase in N6-methyladenosine (m6A) methylase METTL3 NPC and other tumors. Mechanistically, acts as an m6A methylase, enhancing modification solute carrier family 7 member 11 (SLC7A11) transcript, which increases its stability expression, thereby inhibiting radiation-induced ferroptosis ultimately inducing NPC. Furthermore, silencing SLC7A11 or employing inducer Erastin negated promoting effect on cell radioresistance. These findings suggest that could be novel therapeutic target overcoming radiotherapy resistance

Oxidative stress occurs when there is an imbalance between the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and body’s antioxidant defenses. It poses a significant threat to physiological function reproductive cells. Factors such as xenobiotics heat can worsen this stress, leading cellular damage apoptosis, ultimately decreasing efficiency. The nuclear factor erythroid 2–related 2 (Nrf2) signaling pathway plays crucial role in defending against oxidative protecting cells via enhancing responses. Dysregulation Nrf2 has been associated with infertility suboptimal performance mammals. Recent advancements therapeutic interventions have underscored critical mitigating restoring functional integrity In narrative review, we delineate harmful effects xenobiotic-induced on explain how provides protection these challenges. studies shown that activating using various bioactive compounds ameliorate distress apoptosis mammalian By comprehensively analyzing existing literature, propose key target for caused by exposure xenobiotic stress.
