Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is one of the biggest threats to environment and health. AMR rapidly invalidates conventional antibiotics, antimicrobial nanomaterials have been increasingly explored as alternatives. Interestingly, several show AMR-independent effects without detectable new therefore suggested prevent evolution. In contrast, some are found trigger evolution AMR. Given these seemingly conflicting findings, a timely discussion two faces urgently needed. This review systematically compares killing mechanisms structure-activity relationships antibiotics nanomaterials. We then focus on nano-microbe interactions elucidate impacts molecular initiating events Finally, we provide an outlook future propose design principles for prevention

Summary Over the past several decades, increasing global prevalence of obesity‐related nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has been one main challenges to human health. Recently, evidence validated connections among short chain acids (SCFAs), a physiologically relevant concentration, intestinal microbiota, and host metabolism. In this review, we summarized crosstalk between SCFAs metabolism in relation NAFLD pathophysiology, focusing on recent advances. Firstly, how are generated absorbed under different nutritional conditions gut. Secondly, maintain gut barrier alleviate hepatic inflammatory responses. Thirdly, energy balance through controlling appetite mediating glucose homeostasis at systemic level. Fourthly, G‐protein‐coupled receptors (GPRs) widely involved above metabolic processes regulated by SCFAs. Overall, review aimed provide new insights into prospects as potential therapeutic target management diseases.

Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC) is a major cause of diarrhea in children and travelers developing countries. ETEC characterized by the ability to produce virulence factors including colonization (CFs) enterotoxins, that bind specific receptors on epithelial cells induce diarrhea. The gut microbiota stable sophisticated ecosystem performs range beneficial functions for host, protection against pathogen colonization. Understanding pathogenic mechanisms interaction between represents not only research need but also an opportunity challenge develop precautions infection. Herein, this review focuses recent discoveries about etiology, pathogenesis clinical manifestation, discusses resistances mediated microbiota, as well preventative strategies with aim provide novel insights can reduce adverse effect human health.

Abstract Intestinal epithelium undergoes rapid cellular turnover, relying on the local niche, to support intestinal stem cells (ISCs) function and self‐renewal. Research into association between ISCs disease continues expand at a rate. However, detailed interaction of gut microbes remains be elucidated. Thus, this review witnessed major advances in crosstalk microbes, delivering key insights (1) construction ISC niche molecular mechanism how jointly govern epithelial homeostasis protect against diseases with participation Wnt, bone morphogenetic protein, Notch; (2) differentiation fate affect microbiota. Meanwhile, presence also regulates function; (3) microbiota regulation by Wnt Notch signals through pattern recognition receptors; (4) do specific microbiota‐related postbiotics influence maintain regeneration that provide promising alternative therapeutic method for diseases. Mycotoxins are produced primarily as secondary fungal metabolites. toxic in nature and naturally by various species of fungi, which usually contaminate food feed ingredients. The growth these harmful fungi depends on several environmental factors, such pH, humidity, temperature; therefore, the mycotoxin distribution also varies among global geographical areas. Various rules regulations regarding mycotoxins imposed government bodies each country, responsible for addressing health security concerns. Despite this legislation, incidence contamination is continuously increasing. In review, we discuss regulatory guidelines recommendations that implemented around world to control products. Researchers inventors from parts have reported innovations controlling mycotoxin-associated consequences. Unfortunately, most techniques restricted laboratory scales cannot reach users. Consequently, date, no single device has been commercialized can detect all available environment. Therefore, study, describe severe hazards associated with exposure, their molecular signaling pathways processes toxicity, genotoxic cytotoxic effects toward humans animals. We recent developments construction a sensitive specific effectively implements identification detection methods. addition, our study comprehensively examines advancements field mitigating consequences links them activated upon exposure.
