Entropy indicates irregularity of a dynamic system, with higher entropy indicating and more transit states. In the human brain, regional brain (BEN) has been increasingly assessed using resting state fMRI (rs-fMRI), while changes BEN during task-based have scarcely studied. The purpose this study is to characterize task-induced alterations large Human Connectome Project (HCP) data. To control potential modulation by block design, task-fMRI was calculated from images acquired task conditions only (task BEN) then compared rs-fMRI (resting BEN). Moreover, separately blocks runs (control BEN. Finally, test for residual effects in condition. As a novel measure for irregularity and complexity of the spontaneous fluctuations brain activities, entropy (BEN) has attracted much attention in resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI) studies during last decade. Previous have shown its associations with cognitive mental functions. While most previous research assumes BEN is approximately stationary scan sessions, brain, even at resting state, highly dynamic system. Such dynamics could be characterized by series reoccurring whole-brain patterns related to processes. The present study aims explore time-varying feature potential links general ability. We adopted sliding window approach derive dynamical (dBEN) networks from HCP (Human Connectome Project) rs-fMRI dataset that includes 812 young healthy adults. dBEN was further clustered into 4 states k-means clustering method. fraction (FW) mean dwell time (MDT) one extremely low overall BEN, were found negatively correlated abilities (i.e., flexibility, inhibitory control, processing speed). Intermittent theta burst stimulation (iTBS), a novel protocol within repetitive transcranial magnetic (rTMS), has shown superior therapeutic effects for depression compared to conventional high-frequency rTMS (HF-rTMS). However, the neural mechanisms underlying iTBS remain poorly understood. Brain entropy (BEN), measure of irregularity brain activity, recently emerged as promising marker regional function and demonstrated sensitivity HF-rTMS. Given its potential, BEN may help elucidate iTBS. In this study, we computed using resting-state fMRI data from sixteen healthy participants obtained OpenNeuro. Participants underwent over left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (L-DLPFC) at two different intensities (90 % 120 resting motor threshold (rMT)) on separate days. We used 2 × 2 repeated measures analysis variance (ANOVA) analyze interaction between intensity pre- vs. post-stimulation paired sample t-tests examine specific intensities. Subthreshold led in several receptor/transporter maps, primarily involving serotonin (5-HT), cannabinoid (CB), acetylcholine (ACh), glutamate (Glu). findings suggest is sensitive iTBS, with having distinct activity. Brain entropy (BEN) calculated from resting state fMRI has been the subject of increasing research interest in recent years. Previous studies have shown correlations between rest BEN and neurocognition task performance, but how this relates to task-evoked brain activations deactivations remains unknown. The purpose study is address open question using large data (n = 862). Voxel wise were activations/deactivations five different tasks. For most assessed tasks, lower was found be associated with stronger (negative correlations) (positive only regions activated or deactivated by Higher workload evoked spatially more extended negative activations. These results not confirm that activity can predict during performance also for first time show may facilitate both deactivations. In addition, provide a clue understanding individual differences

Abstract Entropy indicates systematic irregularity and information capacity. Recent years have seen increasing interest in assessing regional brain entropy (BEN) using fMRI healthy controls (HCs) patients with various diseases. Depression anti-depressant related BEN alterations been reported several initial studies. Re-examining these effects independent cohort is crucial given the high complexity of depression. In this study, we used open data from OpenNeuro 46 mild to moderate depression 20 HCs examine its changes due nonpharmacological treatment (14 underwent treatment). Functional connectivity (FC) analysis was performed assess inter-regional relationship between regions showing rest brain. Compared HCs, showed increased left DLPFC, precuneus, limbic system, including amygdala, parahippocampal gyrus hippocampus. Increased amygdala were suppressed by a each individual patient. had positive FC right DLPFC negative areas, while abnormally lower or area. These seeded reverted after treatment. The findings highlight system effects, exhibit significant emotion dysregulation, which effectively addressed targeting top-down regulation functions mediated DLPFC-limbic system. Different existing literature, results suggest entropy/irregularity as potential mechanism underlying personalized marker for corresponding effects.

In recent years, brain entropy (BEN) has been ossociated with a number of neurocognitive, biological, and sociodemographic variables. However, its link morphology is still unknown. this study, we use resting-state fMRI (rsfMRI) data to estimate BEN maps investigate their associations three metrics morphology: gray matter volume (GMV), surface area (SA), cortical thickness (CT). Separate analyses will be performed on derived from four distinct rsfMRI runs, using both voxelwise regions interest (ROIs) approach. Our findings consistently showed that lower (i.e., higher temporal coherence activity) was related increased GMV SA in the lateral frontal lobes, inferior parietal lobules, precuneus. We hypothesize might reflect reserve as well information processing capacity.
