Sepsis is a syndrome of organ dysfunction caused by an uncontrolled inflammatory response, which can seriously endanger life. Currently, there still shortage specific therapeutic drugs. Quercetin and its natural derivatives have received lot attention recently for their potential in treating sepsis. Here, we provide comprehensive summary the recent research progress on quercetin derivatives, with focus mechanisms antioxidation anti-inflammation. To obtain necessary information, conducted search PubMed, Web Science, EBSCO, Cochrane library databases using keywords sepsis, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-infection, quercetin, to identify relevant from 6315 articles published last five years. At present, 11 been intensively studied. They primarily exert anti-inflammation effects through PI3K/AKT/NF-κB, Nrf2/ARE, MAPK pathways. The feasibility these compounds experimental models clinical application were also discussed. In conclusion, good treatment

Iron, an essential mineral in the body, is involved numerous physiological processes, making maintenance of iron homeostasis crucial for overall health. Both overload and deficiency can cause various disorders human diseases. Ferroptosis, a form cell death dependent on iron, characterized by extensive peroxidation lipids. Unlike other kinds classical unprogrammed death, ferroptosis primarily linked to disruptions metabolism, lipid peroxidation, antioxidant system imbalance. Ferroptosis regulated through transcription, translation, post-translational modifications, which affect cellular sensitivity ferroptosis. Over past decade or so, diseases have been as part their etiology, including cancers, metabolic disorders, autoimmune diseases, central nervous cardiovascular musculoskeletal Ferroptosis-related proteins become attractive targets many major that are currently incurable, some regulators shown therapeutic effects clinical trials although further validation potential needed. Therefore, in-depth analysis its molecular mechanisms may offer additional strategies prevention treatment. In this review, we discuss significance contribution etiology development along with evidence supporting targeting approach. Cancer is the world's second most common cause of death, with colon cancer (CC) ranking third in prevalence and cancer-related fatalities. CC originates or rectum influenced by genetic mutations, lifestyle, diet. Although chemotherapy, especially 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), fundamental to treatment has improved patient survival, its benefits are often limited significant side effects emerging drug resistance. Recently, plant-based foods have drawn interest research for their natural bioactive compounds relatively low toxicity. Certain plant not only exhibit anti-cancer activity but may also boost effectiveness 5-FU while reducing adverse effects. Despite evidence suggesting a synergistic effect between 5-FU, this area remains fragmented. This review consolidates current on including fruits, vegetables, legumes, tea bioactives treatment. Besides, it explores mechanisms through which these enhance efficacy reduce effects, evaluates clinical application prospects, identifies challenges future directions. comprehensive analysis aims provide scientific foundation integrated CC, highlighting potential enhancing chemotherapy associated toxicities.

Moringa oleifera is one of the popular plants that have shown significant health benefits. Certainly, preclinical evidence (predominantly from animal models) summarized in current review supports beneficial effects leaf extracts combating prominent characteristic features diabetes mellitus. This includes effective control blood glucose or insulin levels, enhancement tissue sensitivity, improvement lipid profiles, and protecting against organ damage under sustained conditions hyperglycemia. Interestingly, as major complications implicated progression diabetes, including damage, seed could efficiently block detrimental oxidative stress inflammation these models. Notably, (especially extracts) showed enhanced strengthening intracellular antioxidant defences like catalase, superoxide dismutase, glutathione to lower peroxidation products reduce pro-inflammatory markers such tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin (1L)-β, IL-6, monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 nitric oxide synthase. From models common dose was 100–300 mg/kg, within treatment duration 2–8 weeks. Whereas supplementation with approximately 20 g powder for at least 2 weeks improve postprandial subjects prediabetes diabetes. Although limited clinical studies been conducted on antidiabetic properties , findings provide an important platform future research directed developing this plant a functional food manage diabetic complications.

Background : Psoriasis is a longstanding autoimmune dermatosis with thickened, reddish-brown, and flaking skin lesions. Melatonin an indolamine hormone exhibiting antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-proliferative actions. Rutin nutritional flavonoid possessing antioxidative, immunomodulatory properties. Aim To explore the potential anti-psoriatic activity of combined topical melatonin rutin. Methods 70 albino mice were divided into 7 groups 10 each. The impacts clinical observation, histopathological examination, biomarker analysis estimated. Results Combined rutin effectively diminished imiquimod-induced elevated PASI Baker’s scores corrected aberrations. Diminished inflammatory indicators like TNF-α IL-17A, angiogenic elements VEGF, oxidative MDA, proliferative Ki-67 also noted. Conclusion have profound effects.

The consumption of wampee has traditionally been utilized to alleviate gastrointestinal inflammation and associated disorders; however, its exact mechanism remained unknown. aim this study was elucidate the therapeutic efficacy underlying polyphenol extract (WPE) in dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced ulcerative colitis (UC). findings revealed that WPE alleviated diverse symptoms UC, regulated various inflammatory cytokines, effectively protected colon tissue structure barrier integrity, thereby inhibiting LPS translocation. Moreover, restored richness diversity gut microbiota optimized at phylum genus levels, causing a notable improvement short- chain fatty acid (SCFA) metabolism, particularly acetic acid, propionic butyric acid. Consequently, demonstrated suppress LPS-induced TLR4-p38 MAPK/NF-κB signaling pathway by modulating SCFA metabolism. These provided theoretical basis for use as potential functional natural food UC.
