Global warming is favouring the incidence, intensity and duration of harmful cyanobacterial blooms. Microcystin-LR (MC-LR), a hepatotoxic agent, produced during To understand molecular mechanisms acute effect low doses MC-LR in crab, we examined differentially expressed genes samples hepatopancreas Chinese mitten crab (Eriocheir sinensis) collected 48 h after injections at 0, 25, 50, 75 µg/kg. The results revealed that induced changes corresponding gene led to accumulation triglycerides. exposure affected sterol metabolism. Apoptosis-related such as Fas-L, Bcl-XL, Cytc, AiF, p53, PERK, calpain, CASP2, CASP7, α-tubulin, PARP, GF, G12, PKC were upregulated. Conversely, expression levels CASP10 ASK1 downregulated. Genes related regulation actin cytoskeleton (Rho, ROCK, MLCP, MLC, PAK, PFN) Further, encoding fatty acid elongation-related enzymes upregulated, but synthesis was slightly down regulated. Taken together, these demonstrated hepatic toxicity lipid metabolism, immune apoptosis under MC-LR-induced stress, which first report on crabs performs comprehensive analysis new insight toxicological responses crabs.

The population responds to environmental variability largely determined by the dynamic interactions between fitness components within- and among-individual variation in expression of environmentally sensitive phenotype. study was conducted on daily seasonal changes steroidogenic gene markers corresponding physiological characters adult male tree sparrows. Two experiments were performed. In experiment one, birds (n = 5/time points) sampled during breeding season at 6-time points, i.e., ZT1, ZT5, ZT9, ZT13, ZT17, ZT21 [Zeitgeber time (ZT) 0 sun rise respective year], observed hypothalamus testes tissues. two, 5/month) every month mid-day for a year. Body mass, bill color, size, molt feathers recorded. tissues used studies. Blood plasma cholesterol testosterone levels measured. Higher testicular volumes recorded from March May, whereas maximum post-breeding phase. Plasma highest before corresponded with expressions thyroid-stimulating hormone subunit beta (tshβ), type 2 deiodinase (dio2), gonadotropin-releasing (gnrh) phase higher 3 (dio3) gonadotropin-inhibitory (gnih) non-breeding transcripts showed their hypothalamic tissue upregulated either pre-breeding or reveals that mRNA enzymes exhibit rhythmicity both testis Further, show variations correspond annual reproductive cycle sparrow (Passer montanus).

Ovarian development is an important prerequisite and basis for animal reproduction. In many vertebrates, it regulated by multiple genes influenced sex steroid hormones environmental factors. However, relative information limited in shellfish. To explore the biological functions molecular mechanisms of mRNA non-coding RNA that regulate ovarian Scapharca broughtonii, we performed whole transcriptome sequencing analysis on ovaries at three developmental stages. Furthermore, processes involved differential expression ncRNA were analyzed.A total 11,342 mRNAs, 6897 lncRNAs, 135 circRNAs, 275 miRNAs differentially expressed. By mapping expressed RNAs from stages Venn diagram, groups shared mRNAs lncRNAs found to be associated with development, some hormone. addition, constructed visualized lncRNA/circRNA-miRNA-mRNA network based ceRNA targeting relationships. These findings may facilitate our further understanding ncRNAs roles regulation shellfish

Sea urchin (Mesocentrotus nudus) is a commercially significant mariculture species, with its gonads being the exclusive edible parts for humans. Identifying sex-related genes an effective approach elucidating underlying molecular mechanisms of gonad development in sea urchins. Some cytochrome P450 (CYP) superfamily members play critical roles sex differentiation, steroid hormone biosynthesis, and ovarian steroidogenesis. In present study, we identified 83 CYPs assigned to 17 families from gonadal transcriptomic data M. nudus, most clustering within CYP 2 family branches. Furthermore, 11 gender-biased CYPs, including 17A1, 2, 3A24, 4V2, 46A1, as well related 1A1, 1A5, 3, 17A1. The expression patterns those candidate were also analyzed. findings lay foundation further investigating role endogenous synthesis steroids, offering valuable insights into differentiation

Hydroxysteroid dehydrogenases (HSDs) play an important role in the metabolism of steroids and xenobiotics. However, function HSDs invertebrates is unclear. In this study, we cloned hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase-like 2 (HSDL2) gene Perinereis aibuhitensis, which 1652 bp length, encoding 400 amino acids. This sequence contains conserved short-chain dehydrogenase sterol carrier protein-2 domain, alignment analysis showed its close relationship with other invertebrate HSDL2. Further, tissue distribution HSDL2 it expressed strongly intestine. The expression level after inducement bisphenol A (BPA) was also detected both at transcriptional translational levels. results inferred that BPA exposure can induce expression, inductive effect obvious high-concentration group (100 μg/L). summary, our detoxification polychaetes.

The aim present study was to establish a feasible method isolating highly purified LCs. were isolated from fresh testes 2-month-old ducks via digestion collagenase IV Percoll density gradient centrifugation; hematoxylin eosin (H&E), immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining, ELISA, radioimmunoassay performed. Results revealed that prominently noticeable testicular interstitium as compared 6-month-old 1-year-old ducks. Furthermore, IHC demonstrated cultured occupied 90% area petri dish expressed 3β-HSD 24 h after culture (hac) 48 72 hac. Additionally, ELISA indicate level cellular supernatant hac, whereas gradually decreased 96 indicating secrete at an early stage. Based on above results, has effectively developed technique identified its biological function synthesizing testosterone.

Detailed description of scanning electromagnetic microscope (SEM) the Holothuria scabra’s ossicles (Holothuroidea: Echinodermata) collected from Pesawaran waters, Lampung, Indonesia. Biodiversitas 23: 3697-3704. Ossicles are microscopic calcified endoskeleton that unique across sea cucumber species. Understanding ossicle characteristic especially sandfish H. scabra juvenilles important during mariculture prevent fraud due to high economic value. This study aims identify wild Lampung Province, Indonesia using electron microscopes get more detailed morphology ossicles. Seven specimens were in Pesawaran, Sari Ringgung Mutun, around waters. Morphology carried out by observing body appearance tentacles as well measuring weights lengths. The observation was performed light (LEICA ICC50 HD) at 400x magnification SEM (Jeol-JCM6000). length tested 140-300 mm weight approximately 99-579 g. These two parameters found exhibit positive correlation (R2 = 0.93; R= 0.96; p 0.000). All observed displayed peltate (12-22 tentacles) surrounding mouths. between tentacle numbers also (R2= 0.53; 0.73; 0.101). shape consist six fourteen-hole buttons, tables, spiny perforated plates cloaca, tube foot rods, dorsal I shaped branched rods.
