Abstract The increasing antibiotic resistance towards a panel of microorganisms is one the public health concerns. For this reason, search for alternatives to widely used has been undertaken. In era sustainable chemistry, deep eutectic solvents (DESs) have emerged as promising antimicrobial agents. These possess several advantages such low volatility, flammability, ease preparation, and typically cost production. properties make DES suitable various applications, including extraction biomolecules preparation cosmetics. Natural DESs (NADESs) are special category prepared from natural sources, which matched recent trends leaning back nature, decreasing dependence on synthetic precursors. NADES can be by heating stirring, freeze-drying, evaporation, grinding, ultrasound-assisted microwave-assisted synthesis. Utilizing NADESs an alternative traditional antibiotics, become ineffective over time due bacterial resistance, holds great promise these reasons. This review aims discuss multiple NADESs, antibacterial antifungal activities. To best our knowledge, first literature survey activities NADESs. Key points • antibiotics high potential their activity against also substantial

Deep eutectic solvents (DESs) and ionic liquids (ILs) offer novel opportunities for several pharmaceutical applications. Their tunable properties control over their design Choline chloride (CC)-based DESs (referred to as Type III eutectics) superior advantages various therapeutic Here, CC-based of tadalafil (TDF), a selective phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE-5) enzyme inhibitor, were designed implementation in wound healing. The adopted approach provides formulations the topical application TDF, hence avoiding systemic exposure. To this end, chosen based on suitability application. Natural deep eutectic solvents (NaDES), a category of sustainable made from biorefinery ingredients, are an eco-friendly alternative to organic in solubilization active pharmaceutical or cosmetic ingredients. Biocompatible NaDES can be introduced final products but prone modify their properties thanks hydrogen bonding capacities. The present study focuses on the impact incorporation two hydrophilic betaine and glycerol (BG) citric acid glucose (CG), carboxymethylcellulose (CMC)-based hydrogel. Differential scanning calorimetry revealed that did not affect endothermic peak water eliminated associated with CMC polymer chain loosening. Rheological analysis displayed shear-thinning behavior, while addition 10% wt led significant increase viscosity at rest. CG introduction shift viscous-dominant behavior elastic-dominant strengthening cohesion gel structure. Texture analyses NaDES-containing gels exhibit higher hardness elasticity. Sensory evaluations highlighted differences five sensory attributes among concentrations types playing roles. This research underscores intricate interplay between hydrogel properties, offering insights into formulation innovative achieve both solubility appeal.
