Plant-based materials are an important source of bioactive compounds (BC) with interesting industrial applications. Therefore, adequate experimental strategies for maximizing their recovery yield required. Among all procedures extracting BC (maceration, Soxhlet, hydro-distillation, pulsed-electric field, enzyme, microwave, high hydrostatic pressure, and supercritical fluids), the ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) highlighted as advanced, cost-efficient, eco-friendly, sustainable alternative recovering (polyphenols, flavonoids, anthocyanins, carotenoids) from plant sources higher yields. However, UAE efficiency is influenced by several factors, including operational variables process (frequency, amplitude, ultrasonic power, pulse cycle, type solvent, time, solvent-to-solid ratio, pH, particle size, temperature) that exert impact on molecular structures targeted molecules, leading to variations in biological properties. In this context, a diverse design experiments (DOEs), full or fractional factorial, Plackett-Burman, Box-Behnken, Central composite, Taguchi, Mixture, D-optimal, Doehlert have been investigated alone combination optimize plant-based materials, using response surface methodology mathematical models simple multi-factorial/multi-response approach. Similar lacking for cultivated species. was grown three years. At full bloom each year, cut separated into its parts: stems, leaves, flower buds, flowers. Tocotrienols (T3s) were present in part perforatum. The lowest concentration tocotrienols recorded stems highest buds (1.7–4.2 88.2–104.7 mg/100 g dry weight, respectively). Juglans regia L., walnut, is a large, long-living tree, cultivated in temperate climates around the world. It highly appreciated for its nutritional kernels and high-quality timber. Its barks, leaves, husk are used as dyes folk medicine herbal remedies several diseases. From biological chemical standpoint, relatively little known about male flowers of tree. Therefore, aim study was to evaluate phenolic profile well vitro antioxidant, antimicrobial, antiproliferative activity L. flowers. Phenolic content determined by UPLC/PDA/MS/MS analyses; antioxidant assessed five different methods; antimicrobial evaluated against six most common pathogenic strains Gram-positive Gram-negative bacteria, properties were cell lines. Most analyses carried out this performed first time raw material. J. flower extract characterized strong ability scavenge DPPH˙ free radicals, hydroxyl chelating metal ions. Among examined bacterial neoplastic lines, strongest shown S. aureus, monocytogenes, B. cereus, cytotoxic breast cancer, glioblastoma, astrocytoma cells. Male have also been found be rich source compounds. The polyphenols 4369.73 mg/100 g d.w., 24 compounds from group flavonoids, acids, juglunosides identified. Additionally, correlation between capacity observed. This why tested an excellent effective natural antibacterial, chemopreventive that potential pharmaceutical or food industries.

Corn silk, derived from the stigmas of corn (Zea mays, Poaceae) flowers, possesses valuable bioactive compounds that can be harnessed for therapeutical, nutritional, and industrial purposes. This research aimed to optimize extraction specifically flavonoids total antioxidant capacity, by comparing it with classical (infusion maceration). The study identified significant factors influencing flavonoid content (TFC) activity (assessed through an ABTS assay), including ethanol concentration, ultrasonic amplitude, their quadratic interactions. optimized combination independent variables (37.89% ethanolic 48.58% ultrasound time 38.72 min) yielded a balanced extraction, maximizing both TFC activity. Further analyses revealed phenolic content, (50.69 ± 0.36 mg GAE, 23.54 0.01 QE, 78.33 0.94 TE/g extract, respectively), potent in vitro activity, affirming efficacy extraction. also explored inhibitory effects on α-glucosidase (IC50 = 411.67 25.39 µg/mL), acetylcholinesterase 1166.4 399.38 pancreatic lipase 1519.67 209.04 showcasing potential antidiabetic neuroprotective properties.
