Worldwide nanotechnology development and application have fueled many scientific advances, but technophilic expectations technophobic demands must be counterbalanced in parallel. Some of the burning issues today are following: (1) Where is nano today? (2) How good communication investment networks between academia/research governments? (3) Is there any spotlight for nanotechnology? Nanomedicine a particular arm within healthcare landscape, focused on diagnosis, treatment, monitoring emerging (such as coronavirus disease 2019, COVID-19) contemporary (including diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, neurodegenerative disorders, cancer) diseases. However, it may only represent bright side coin. In fact, recent past, concept nanotoxicology has emerged to address dark shadows nanomedicine. The nanomedicine field requires more nanotoxicological studies identify undesirable effects guarantee safety. Here, we provide an overall perspective central pieces giant puzzle nanotechnology. First, impact education research highlighted, followed by market trends output tendencies. next section, dilemma addressed through interplay silico, vitro, vivo models with support omics microfluidic approaches. Lastly, reflection regulatory clinical trials provided. Finally, some conclusions future perspectives proposed clearer safer translation nanomedicines from bench bedside.

Infectious virus outbreaks pose a significant challenge to public healthcare systems. Early and accurate diagnosis is critical prevent the spread of virus, especially when no specific vaccine or effective medicine available. In clinics, most commonly used viral detection methods are molecular techniques that involve measurement nucleic acids proteins biomarkers. However, clinic-based require complex infrastructure expensive equipment, which not suitable for low-resource settings. Over past years, smartphone-based point-of-care testing (POCT) has rapidly emerged as potential alternative laboratory-based clinical diagnosis. This review summarizes latest development detection. First, POCT-based diagnostic compared, both rely on immunosensing acid Then, various POCT techniques, including optical biosensors, electrochemical other types biosensors discussed. Moreover, this covers diagnostics viruses COVID-19, Ebola, influenza, Zika, HIV, et al. Finally, prospects challenges It believed will aid researchers better understand current achieving ultimate goal containing disease-causing worldwide.

Abstract Traditional diagnostic strategies for infectious disease detection require benchtop instruments that are inappropriate point-of-care testing (POCT). Emerging microfluidics, a highly miniaturized, automatic, and integrated technology, potential substitute traditional methods in performing rapid, low-cost, accurate, on-site diagnoses. Molecular diagnostics widely used microfluidic devices as the most effective approaches pathogen detection. This review summarizes latest advances microfluidics-based molecular diseases from academic perspectives industrial outlooks. First, we introduce typical on-chip nucleic acid processes, including sample preprocessing, amplification, signal read-out. Then, four categories of platforms compared with respect to features, merits, demerits. We further discuss application digital assay absolute quantification. Both classic recent commercial summarized proof current market status. Finally, propose future directions diagnosis.

The introduction of point-of-care testing (POCT) has revolutionized medical by allowing for simple tests to be conducted near the patient's care point, rather than being confined a laboratory. This been especially beneficial developing countries with limited infrastructure, where often involves sending specimens off-site and waiting hours or days results. However, development POCT devices challenging, simplicity, accuracy, cost-effectiveness key factors in making these feasible. Nanotechnology played crucial role achieving this goal, not only possible but also masking their complexity. In article, recent developments that benefit from nanotechnology are discussed. Microfluidics lab-on-a-chip technologies highlighted as major drivers testing, particularly infectious disease diagnosis. These enable various bioassays used at point care. article addresses challenges faced technological advances interesting future trends. benefits significant, is shifting towards prevention, early detection, managing chronic conditions. Infectious low-income can lead prompt treatment, preventing infections spreading.
