An outbreak of monkeypox (Mpox) appeared suddenly and rapidly spread worldwide during 2022. Men who have sex with men (MSM) are at a high risk contracting Mpox compared to other cohorts. The present study examined the psychometric properties newly developed scale among MSM: Motors Vaccination Acceptance Scale (MoMVA) assessing cognitive components motivation receive an vaccination. In total, 389 MSM participated in online survey study. factor structures MoMVA were first using exploratory analysis. After determining structures, was further for: (i) internal consistency Cronbach's α; (ii) concurrent validity correlations perception intention vaccination; (iii) known-group by comparing scores between vaccinated those did not. results indicated that had two-factor structure (positive negative motors). acceptable (α = 0.793 0.914), (associated vaccination), (participants higher than not). good they can be used for vaccination MSM.

Beginning in May 2022, Mpox virus spread rapidly high-income countries through close human-to-human contact primarily amongst communities of gay, bisexual and men who have sex with (GBMSM). Behavioural change arising from increased knowledge health warnings may reduced the rate transmission modified Vaccinia-based vaccination is likely to be an effective longer-term intervention. We investigate UK epidemic presenting 26-week projections using a stochastic discrete-population model which includes GBMSM status, formation new sexual partnerships, clique partitioning population. The cases peaked mid-July; our analysis that decline was due decreased per infected individual infection-induced immunity among GBMSM, especially those highest partners. Vaccination did not cause incidence turn over, however, we predict rebound behaviour reversion prevented by high-risk group-targeted vaccination.

Digital continues to challenge efforts officials in providing accurate timely information public. We examine evolving topic distributions media narratives during map tension between rapidly diffusing communication. Objective This study aims observe topical themes occurring large-scale collection tweets about using deep learning. Methods leveraged data set comprised all mpox-related that were posted May 7, 2022, July 23, 2022. then applied Sentence Bidirectional Encoder Representations From Transformers (S-BERT) content each tweet generate representation its high-dimensional vector space, where semantically similar will be located closely together. projected embeddings 2D applying principal component analysis Uniform Manifold Approximation Projection (UMAP). Finally, we group these points into 7 clusters k-means clustering analyze cluster determine dominant topics. over time evaluate longitudinal thematic changes. Results Our deep-learning pipeline revealed distinct content: (1) cynicism, (2) exasperation, (3) COVID-19, (4) men who have sex men, (5) case reports, (6) vaccination, (7) World Health Organization (WHO). Clusters largely communicated erroneous or irrelevant began earlier grew faster, reaching wider audience than later communications official instances officials. The results revealed that older (p < 0.001), perceived higher = 0.040), received from health-care providers 0.001) more likely receive vaccination, whereas reported greater severity depression 0.017) less vaccination. However, age did not moderate associations perceiving mpox, receiving providers, having Health-care should consider these when developing intervention programs enhancing MSM.

Abstract The 2022 multi‐country mpox outbreak raised public concern globally. Linking identified MPOX cases to care is essential for control. This study aims investigate the intentions of healthcare seeking and self-isolation among men who have sex with (MSM) in China. A cross-sectional online survey was conducted early August 2023 Respondents were recruited by community-based organizations (CBOs), collecting information on demographics, health status, behavioural psychological characteristics. Univariate multivariate logistic regression analyses performed examine predictors seek self-isolate within MSM population. total 7725 participants recruited, a median age 30 years. 92.21% would MPOX-like symptoms, but only 52.50% intended if diagnosed. Intentions lower those symptoms past 3 months (standardized prevalence ratio (SPRs) = 0.82, 95% CI: 0.74-0.89) willingness reduced diagnosed (SPRs 0.65, 0.48-0.87). Participants free sexually transmitted infections (STIs) aware their HIV status more likely than STIs or unaware status. Regular followers perceiving low risk infection inclined take preventive measures. These findings highlight need targeted prevention strategies high-risk groups importance addressing barriers infectious disease response.
